Alamo Bowl Open Thread
In the spirit of creating these threads ridiculously early, I present to the MGoPublic the Valero Alamo Bowl Open Thread. Remember, gas is a few cents cheaper at the Valero station....in Canton.
Anyhow, it's Washington (7-5) versus RGIII and Baylor (9-3) in a Pac-12 / Big 12 matchup.
ESPN at 9 PM, immediately following the sudden fun that seriously is the Champs Sports Bowl.

Mods erased the "RG3 isn't as billed" post? Interesting.

I apparently have Baylor in this one. It might have been the fact that I was about five Hacker-Pschorrs in when I made the picks, but I have confidence in RGIII's ability to rule this game.

You're a cheap date.

....and I thought she didn't hear me, so I was like, "YOU'RE A CHEAP DATE!"

Go Bears?
December 29th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
Prediction: RGIII returns to early season form with more TDs than incompletions.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
Their jerseys suck though.

don't know if Denard could do that on the run
December 29th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
Glad we didn't end up matched up against these guys in a bowl. RGIII is the stuff of defensive coordinator's nightmares.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
Even on the run after a fumbled snap, his pass is right on the money
December 29th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
Too bad the receiver was ineligible...And Baylor scores the first TD. Well done Bears, well done.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
Did anyone actually pick against Baylor? Has anyone watched them over the course of the season as I have? They may be lacking a great defense, but overall they're a pretty darn good football team. RGIII is a beast, I thorougly enjoy watching him play the game (I'm very bias as I'm a former 400 hurdler myself), damn near as much as I enjoy watching Denard.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
That was a wonderful recovery from a bad snap.
Baylor gets a 4th down conversion too...and a TD! Where is that 7-5 Huskies defense now? Oh, wait....on the field.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
That was impressive!
December 29th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
The old "empty-backfield-and-QB-sneak" scores another TD.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
Might make this more interesting than the line thought it would be.

Is it slowly looking like EVERYONE who "should" be in the Sugar Bowl instead of VT isn't really that good? (Other than Boise)
December 29th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
Which team's non-defense will give up the least number of points?
December 29th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
Just because their offense will score the non-least amount of points.
December 29th, 2011 at 10:57 PM ^
and my Bears are down 11. Not an auspicious start. Let's see that second-half open-playbook rich-moneybags-old-guard-Heisman-stock-quarter-back-man-ball-Heis-man Robert Griffin III can uncork some dat ole timey magic.
December 29th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
When it went to 18? (not counting the 9 point spread)
December 29th, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
Oooh man all us bowl pickem folk might be up the creek on this one. Fortunately Washington is still 7-5 Washington.
December 29th, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
"Where's The D?"
Edit: Huskies red zone turnover wut!?
December 29th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Anyone else not see that TD because ESPN's feed went out in mid- play?
December 29th, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
Yep, caught it on the replay. Nice effort by RG3 to get a block.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Thankfully they showed the replay and I got to see Griffin lay some wood.

When I saw that I just thought of a future apology from him, or someone totally taking it out of context on youtube...Or both. lolz

I think the Sr-Jr designation is used to keep the generations straight between any two of them, regardless of what "number" they might be.

My stream keeps going teal at odd times.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
I think that is true of everyone's feed. Kinda annoying.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
So does my T.V.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
ESPN is doing a wonderful job not carrying this game. The screen goes blue every minute or so.
December 29th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
Is it me or does speilman look like he does massive amounts of coke the night before his broadcasts?
December 29th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Sweet, Ron Cherry is doing the game. For anyone unfamiliar:
