Hoke at Warren De La Salle Today
Title says it all. Probably keeping Shane up to date. Making sure he stays Blue. This was posted in my Facebook feed. (I'm a DLS Alum).

I don't think we have to worry about Shane Morris staying blue

... "making sure he stays blue" .... dumb.

Is going no where, but to he NFL as another in the long line of great Michigan QB's.

There are other reasons to visit a school than simply to check in on a propsect. Strengthen a relationship with a coach, check in on future prospects, general what-have-you.
Not sure this constitutes news, per se.

most likely hes teaching shane the most important part of getting the future recruits to go blue. the epic double point, huzzah!

Does De La Salle have any underclass prospects we might be looking at as well?
December 14th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
Sometimes coaches go to meet with football coaches to build the relationship and discuss future recruiting prospects. When I was in high school, Lloyd Carr came by to chit chat with our coach and talk about any guys who might be Michigan-worthy. He even was introduced to a few of them. None of them got offers, but they were all close.
DLS's coach might be telling Hoke about a couple young guys to keep an eye on for the future. It keeps the relationship strong, helps out the young DLS players and keeps Hoke ahead of the game. Everybody wins.

No one according to Scout, giving it a quick looksy.

De La Salle is a perennial powerhouse in Northern California and while they might not have a lot of high level D1 prospects other than Shane right now, they consistently send players to D1.
Matt Gutteriez (sp?) was from De La Salle.

Shane is from Warren De La Salle. i think there is more than one de la salle. Matt is from CAli - de la salle.
December 14th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
Gotcha. I used to live in Northern California so when I think De La Salle, I think of the one in Concord.

Just like Country day. Private and parochial schools
December 14th, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
Man, even living down in socal for many years I became aware of the California version of De La Salle. Perinial powerhouse.
December 14th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
perennial is a word.
perineal is a word.
perinial is not.

ewwww...
December 14th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
Yes, and the DeLaSalle in Concord, CA has a ton of D1 talent, including maybe the top LB in 2013 who has us in an early top group.
December 14th, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
Havent heard much from him lately. I hope we are still strong with him.
December 14th, 2011 at 7:14 PM ^
Michael Hutchins...5* LB...
Amani 'it's not a' TOOMER is also a De La Salle alum....unfortunately, along with like 100 other current and former D1ers from major college programs.
*fingers crossed*

Hoke and Shane discussing their recruiting strategy for the 2013 class.

That's actually what I was thinking. Shane's been talking to pretty much everybody we've offered.

"Point"ers? Nice.

I suppose there were several conflicting reports as to Mr. Hoke's whereabouts...
One report stated he attended a scheduled brunch with Ben Bernake, after the chairman wished to contemplate his musings on the federal deficit,
others placed him fighting for Tibet's true political autonomy from the grasp of the Republic of China,
still another reported him in Iran, repremanding Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to which the Iranian president formally apologized to America, kissed the stars and strips, and sang the star spangled banner.
Regardless, you know Brady be making it happen...

If they consulted him to fix the deficit, he'd just poop enough gold to cover it. But only after the Sugar Bowl, when he can eat enough.

Word from my brother, who on the DLS football team, is that it was a discussion about possible early enrollment. A discussion that ended in a no's all around.
December 14th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
Especially from me when I read this.
December 14th, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
It's all good. More than likely, Devin Gardner will be the starting QB Shane's freshman year, even if he had enrolled early. And remember, Henne wasn't an EE and he started game one of his frosh year, so it's certainly possible. Either way, I would expect both Gardner and Bellomy to be ahead of Shane for most of the first season he's here. After that, the sky's the limit.
December 15th, 2011 at 9:47 AM ^
from Denard, to Devin, to Shane. It's a gradual progression to a dual threat QB to a pro-style QB. To me, this seems like a nice transition - so the offense isn't flipping immediately over to a new scheme.
December 15th, 2011 at 11:12 AM ^
I wasn't so much voicing my disappointment for the quarterback position so much as the disappointment that he won't be on campus early. While I'm not as high on Gardner as many on the blog, I think he can be a good quarterback if they can get the most out of him. More importantly, he has the drive and work ethic to be great. I also like Russell Bellomy a lot even though most people seem to just pass over him. I think that kid can play some.
Shane is going to be a great QB, but I think, even if he early enrolled, he'd still get red shirted. He'd be a great kid to have on campus though with his passion for Michigan.
