OT: NFL could be back in business by July 15
Knock on wood, it looks like we're finally heading in the right direction to end the lockout.
Per Jason Cole @ Yahoo! Sports:
NFL could be back in business by July 15
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Now that NFL owners appear to have cleared a significant hurdle on the way to labor peace with the players, the question for the league is simple: How fast can they get the league year started?
The short answer is sometime on or just before July 15. By that point, the league may be reopen for business on a permanent basis, meaning free agents could get signed and draft picks could start to meet with coaches for the first time in hopes of catching up as much as possible by the start of training camp.

Please let the billionaires vs millionaires squabble come to an end...
Excellent. I hope they can get everything resolved. I was really bummed at the chance that there might be a shortened season. This is turning out to be the best week.
I can't start a post cause I'm still pretty new, so anyone who sees this please pass this along to everyone.
The second round of SportsNation and EA's "NCAA Football Traditions" vote is underway at http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/6686472/3-clemson-vs-11-michigan
It's Clemson's rock v. Michigan's banner. VOTE!
It was already posted early yesterday... sorry to be "that guy".
I dont care as long as it gets out, thx!
Heres a hint: it doesn't
who pissed in your cheerios this morning?
May I suggest skipping the Cherrios and just going with Lucky Charms? Nothing like a sugary bowl of milk to pick you up.
There is only one That Guy...
Oh, my mistake! I didn't mean to usurp your role! Apologies.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Yes that means we can finally see the lions in the playoffs. Hopefully, they have the talent we just need everyone to stay healthy
As long as I can play fantasy football this coming year I don't mind. I do think the Lions finally have a reasonably exciting team assuming they can get a Fairley deal done quickly and he comes in shape.
Really though it's all about fantasy football.
Fantasy football rocks. People have tried to invite me to college football fantasy football leagues on CBS but those leagues usually go defunct after a few weeks. :(
God, I love FF. I think I need to find an additional league for this year.
I've only ever played one league at a time and I'm thinking about starting to do multiple leagues. Friends who do this though say that it kind of dampens the emotions you have at any one time. Basically, there's no way all your teams can be doing well so you never have quite the same highs when Chris Johnson breaks one for 60+TD or something because something bad probably just happened in another league. Etc..
Interesting argument. At the end of the day I'll probably still do another league if I find a good one though.
I always thought that the NFL wouldn't miss any games even when it seemed like the chances of that happening were becoming less and less by the day.
now the rest of the "Tat 5" can join TP in the supplemental draft !
Go Blue !
As much as I love the NFL as long as there's football on Saturdays, I'll live.
Who cares? The NFL sucks. The games are largely boring and unwatchable and the players are largely drama queens. It's become pure entertainment (mostly thanks to espn)--not a sport
