Wayne Morgan Announcing June 1st
From ESPN:
ESPNU 150 Watch List cornerback Wayne Morgan (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall) will announce his college choice on June 1, according to Erasmus Hall coach Danny Lundberg. Morgan has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers and Syracuse. However, Lundberg said Morgan will not be attending college in the Northeast.
The GERG difference!!!
HYPOTHETICALLY, if Morgan is the silent commit, does it satisfy the Noah's Ark rules if he silently committed in close proximity to Terry Richardson, but did not announce for more than two weeks?
I believe so, as his silent commitment WAS a commitment albeit a silent one
Well if that's the case, then we need to count Godin's silent commitment too and that really F's things up.
And make things really confusing.
Just to be official, we have 2 silent commitments?
Or someone else, because I only have heard of the one right now.
I am positive of one. I thought someone earlier in the thread said we have 2. I am not sure if we do in fact have 2 or one. I know about godin.
I read that someone indicated a second silent commit when the first was announced - the "Recruit 13" thread. I think there was belief that it might be Strobel. I haven't heard anything about it since, though.
I heard that he might be silent, also. Probably one person giving out the same things. I wonder how his visit went this past weekend?
As I was skimming through Tom Strobel info, I stumbled across this bit of brilliance on the OSU forum: Tom Strobel suffered an injury to his trachea and one of the esteemed members of the board asked "just curious, what is the Trachea??"

Regardless of that it occured months ago, I wish that Tom fully recovered quickly (seems to be true as indicated by his current standing on recruiting sites).
And if you scroll down further, one of the Buckeyes answers with, "I believe it's an old wooden ship."
Just checked his profile and saw they added a star. Good for him. I really like this kid at safety for us.
Is this the first prospect that has ever GAINED a star by committing to Michigan?
Wow, that literally must have happened within a couple hours because I checked his Scout profile not 3 hours ago and I noticed he was the first 3 star safety on Scout. Either way, well deserved.
were involved, they knew their previous ranking was too low.
So are we taking 3 or 4 DB's this year?????
I personally would hope that the DB's we take would include these 3.
CB - Terry Richardson
CB - Armani Reeves
S/CB - Wayne Morgan
Assuming that Morgan is the 13th silent commit it will be interesting to see who will go first and possibly last between Gant, Reeves, and Standifer. Gant is scheduled to visit in a couple weeks and with his new Mich offer making us his outright leader according to dad I would assume that a commit while on the visit isnt too far fetched.
Reeves has also stated that he is now probably going to be moving his time table up. If Gant commits on his visit I wonder if the staff would take a commit from Reeves to take the DB class to 4 total, gonna be really interesting to see!!!
Move back to the 3-3-5.
...and bring back greg robinson
You forgot to mention Jarrod Wilson, who will make the DB recruiting scenario that much more interesting depending on who decides to commit when.
Anthony Standifer said the coaches want 3 cornerbacks.
De'van Bogard said the coaches want 2 cornerbacks and 2 safeties.
So who knows?
Legacy, position of need, looks like a good sized kid. I guess we will see how the family values are shaping up... It sounds like he is talented enough that a preferrd walk on would get a walk out.
The current rumor based on what recruits have been told is that we will take four DBs. Gant looks like a sure thing at this point which would leave one more space for either Reeves, Standifor, Wilson or a surprise. I don't see how they can squeeze in the 25 that they seem to be pointing for but obviously the coaches must know something that is not readily apparent from perusing the roster.
A note on Gant - his highlight film he is not as impressive as those of Jarrod Wilson or Standifer, but there is a lot to be said for giving extra consideration to a legacy player. As long as the young man is a quality FBS level prospect then giving him the benefit of the doubt is part of what they mean by saying "Hoke gets it". The Team, Team..... even stretching back in time... Recruiting is a very inexact science so a slight difference in evaluation may mean nothing in the long run, but keeping the Michigan family together is always good policy.
Wayne Morgan (if he is the commit) do we still consider wayne morgan commit #13 or #14?
I'm hoping we finish out the DB class with commits from Morgan, Reeves, and/or Wilson.
But what I wanna know, is where are the dreadlocks recruits!
They're all in Florida, which we don't recruit much anymore.
Is it just too far or too populated with otter schools or just doesn't have the type of players (square shaped) that we are after?
We've offered about a dozen prospects from Florida this year (that I know of).
Last year we offered about 49 (if I remember correctly).
So we're recruiting Florida a little bit, but not nearly as much. I just don't think we have the contacts in Florida that we did under Rodriguez, and this staff is recruiting the midwest and the west coast harder.
Would still have cred from his time as dc at fla. I guess he can't be everywhere at once.
We can't compete with Sparty outside of Michigan and Ohio. They recruit nationally.
This will make for quite a birthday present for me.
Thanks Wayne! Although now the surprise is spoiled. I guess Brady will have to wrap up a surprise 5 star for me then.Consider it "Dunn".
Ha ha, solid work by you sir!!!!
Is this Jarrod Wilson that you speak of going to be visiting us anytime soon?? Anyone know if he is a serious player in this situation?
I say this because if we take the max of 4 DB's and assuming Morgan is in already then the situation looks like it will play out in the next month between Reeves(in his top 2), Gant(We are his favorite), and Standifer(whom we also lead for).
Assuming these other 3 dont already know that another spot has been taken, the announcement forthcoming on the 1st of June should only speed things along even more rapidly.
Side note - Tom VH in his latest update really sounded positive about one Mr. Pipkins who is scheduled to visit in June. Any way, any chance his visit could coincide with the visit from the Jones kid from NY . . . that would be a HUGE deal to make something happen there. Combined Weight of 635lbs with athleticism!!
and the #33 player in the country

all signs pointing in right direction
leaving AA has created a huge vacuum, into which top D studs are being sucked with tremendous force. Resistance is futile.
Scout: #270 overall, #19 safety
Rivals: #139 overall, #19 defensive back
