Not quite as good as video, but at least it's something.......
Also, I feel like there are a couple of good Hoke photoshop opportunities in here.
im starting to get used to the white pants...
all white is a little too much thou.
If only used on special occasions, i like it
I think if the white pants had the block M, that they would be pretty nice.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:35 PM ^
Do you mean a giant Block M on the front and back. Imagine the Block M starting and ending at the thighs... That would look terrible, but I agree a small Block M would be nice.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
No. I meant a small block M just like the one used on our maize pants. Nothing too flashy. We aren't Oregon!
I could possibly get used to white pants on the road, but seeing them alongside the blue jerseys (as in the one Denard pic) looks bad. That must never happen.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
you want all white?
i think all white looks terrible. cam gordan is actually wearing his away jersey n the white pants. i think it looks hideous compared to oregon's all white.
just my opinion.
March 29th, 2011 at 11:37 PM ^
But I love Cam's away jersey: no yellow swirl down the side, no adidas triple-stripe. It looks like the old school aways. Now if we can just add the block M to the shoulder...
March 29th, 2011 at 11:48 PM ^
"I could possibly get used to" =/= "I want them"
My opposition to them is softening a little, but my preference is to keep things as they are (other than dropping the ugly curved stripe).
secondary
are TREMENDOUS
I think that automatically makes him a starter next year. Dudes rocking fire-dreads don't sit on the bench.
I'm friends with Furm on Facebook. He calls the color of his dread tips "Wild Cherry." For a side note... Furm, along with Marell Evans would absolutely take the title for most tats on the squad.

Josh sure is showing up in a lot of video and photos this spring practice. Pretty exciting, giving his physical ability.
Also, it sure is nice to see Greg Mattson huddling up our defense. It smells like HOPE.
I don't get the idea behind what they're wearing for practice, some guys have the "new" jerseys (once rejected), some wear the normal stuff, and for some reason some guys had on the game jerseys from last year. Other than that, if we do wear the new jerseys the aways will look cool once again, and that shot of Urban Meyer and Denard was pretty awesome.
Someone needs to tell Rudy Kovacs to take his game jersey off, it's only March 29th...

assorted hand-me downs from varsity & JV squads in high school.
Not that it's a huge deal--if they win, I don't care--but it does look sloppy.
What's Urb up to?
Just Urban around.
Running a special for ESPN covering select spring practices. Sometime next week there will be a "long" segment on the Wolverines spring practice that took place the day of this photo.

I see that you have made one of the picture your avatar. I love Denard's smile in that pic.
I need more. Pictures aren't gonna do it for me. I need video. I need rumors. There's only so many (like 14) hours I can dedicate, realistically, to a dozen photos from practice.
I feel like an addict. Probably because I am.

Won't show on iPad or iPhone for now
Is this Mike Cox or Thomas Gordon in the picture with Coach Jackson? I know he is in white, but he looks more like a running back. This guy looks like an animal. I hope its Mike Cox and from what it sounds like in the small article, Cox is running with the 1's right now.
That's what she said.
Cox has supposedly been very impressive in practices. He had two long touchdown runs in the past week, including a 60-70 yarder against the #1 defense.
However, the guy in the picture you're talking about is Thomas Gordon. He's standing next to about four defensive backs and it looks like he's receiving instruction from Carvin Johnson.
Furthermore, I don't think Cox is tatted up that much.
That's awesome to hear. Hasn't Cox supposedly been that kind of talented all along? Either way, this is the kind of info I need to be hearing in order to distract me throughout the work day. I live on over-analyzing rumors about things completly out of my control that have no tangible affect of my life. Kudos to you. Keep it up.
Yeah, he's been hyped a bit for awhile, although it's been growing for a few years. He didn't create much buzz as a freshman, got a little bit as a redshirt frosh, got quite a bit of hype last year (and only got 6 carries), and then it's starting up again this year. From practice reports I've read, it seems that Hopkins and Cox are out in front of the group...but we all know spring practice is overblown at times.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
Denard Robinson was vastly improved last Spring practice and he was vastly improved in the Fall. Therefore, all Spring practice reports are accurate. Now, please tell me the defense is "lights out" and playing like a top-15 unit after a couple months of tutelage.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:36 PM ^
...hmmnnn
I honestly believe that Cox is the guy this year. I remember hearing how excited he was for the new coaching staff and scheme. Let's hope that he works his ass off learning his assignments and gives us that great complement to Denard's rushing.
Yeah, he wasn't a big fan of Rodriguez and Co. I can't say that I blame him, although who knows what's going on in the locker room and on the practice field...

I think Bacon knows and the book is coming out this fall.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
Is the Bacon book for real happening? Or is this just a rumor?

Awesome.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
I have the ominous feeling that Bacon's book is going to make my support for RR seem like a silly idea. I really hope I'm just being paranoid, but the Lagavulin might get a real workout.
March 29th, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
I too look forward to Mr. Bacon's new book. I have a feeling we will all find answers in its pages, though not necessarily to the questions we had in mind when we started reading it. Hopefully this era will not come off as a complete train wreck.

Check out a preview.

I don't think I've ever been looking forward to a book this much. Good or bad, it will be a great read for a Michigan fan.

Magnus, just get it over with already and have a Diary about Cox, similar to the one you had a few years ago where you argued for Minor to get more playing time. You want it, I want it, the American people want it.
March 30th, 2011 at 12:53 PM ^
I'm not gonna lie...
...I do want Cox.
March 30th, 2011 at 12:55 PM ^
I feel like in spring training videos last year, everyone was saying how impressed they were with Cox's performance and then what happened? Not fast enough for the spread? He should fit in with the new offensive scheme well and I also hope to see him more come fall.
People have said that he had a hard time grasping the offense. I don't know if it was the hand signals or what, but there was a time in the BGSU game where it looked like he blocked when he was supposed to take a handoff.
I actually like the look of the all white and would like to see it worn maybe one game a year.
Denard is wearing those new Adidas cleats that weight like 6 ounces or something obscenely light. probably cuts a bajillion seconds off his 40.
I love the look of the new away jerseys! None of that stupid piping on the sides.
I know that the team's working through some injuries, and that Spring is a long way from Fall, but that's an interesting-looking set of defensive 1s. Exciting.
March 29th, 2011 at 10:13 PM ^
Definitely looks interesting. If we're looking at the same picture then I think I see...
DL Roh-Martin-QWash?-RVB
LB Mike Jones-Demens-Bell?
S Kovacs-Carvin
CB Avery?-Tony Anderson
March 29th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
I count about 19 players in that picture, so I'm not sure how you can come up with a starting lineup from that.
Campbell has been getting more run at the 3-tech than Washington or anyone else.
Bell hasn't really been mentioned in updates I've seen. He's been backing up Demens at MIKE.
And keep in mind that both Woolfolk and Floyd are out due to injury right now, so Tony Anderson is essentially beating out...uhhh...Terrance Talbott.
March 29th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Some of the guys looked to be on the sideline, but I was just guessing. So are Kovacs, Carvin, and Mike Jones getting time with the 1s?
