If I remember correctly their offense was the problem but their D kept em in it. Should they be shot out into space and told to never come back. I have seen worse things happen than going to Camp Randell and getting beat. I think when the game is that early in the season anyone can lose to any bowl respectable teams. I don't believe we have heard the last of LSU unless Les loses the team. The 3rd team in the country? I doubt it, but they could easily be a top 10 again time will tell.

So according to these rankings, Oklahoma is better than Louisville and FSU is basically on par with them, after just getting their asses handed to them on a plate by that very team.

S&P needs a new formula.

This team is closer to 15 than 1, IMO. We're a solid team that should improve but we have such glaring deficiencies that I can't see a universe where we play within 2 scores of an Alabama or osu. We couldn't run the ball if those two only had 6 in the box and Speight isn't giving any DC nightmares. Every team around us in the rankins seems to run some variation of spread and you have to imagine you've spotted those teams 14 before the kickoff. Louisville, osu and any Baylor variant with talent will stumble drunkenly stumble onto 14 points. Bama will just out-talent you to 14 before kickoff. My point is that we absolutey cannot hang with those teams right now. We'd have a TON of improvement to show to even be a playoff team and, TBH, this is what I expected before the season. At no point did I buy the NC hype. We'll drop 2-4 games this year.

Lets move on from the chicken little phrase. Its called getting your head out of the clouds and facing reality. Michigan is definitely top ten caliber team but as of now no way they are a top 5. That doesn't mean i think the sky is falling but rather being realistic. Sure i am optimistic things will change and we will improve in areas that we need to compete with bama, osu, etc. But as of right now top ten yes top 5 no.

This list seemed highly suspect to me when I read the headline. Then, when I saw that Notre Dame is still ranked, while MSU is still unranked, I simply gave up. But I get it. Whoever compiled this list doesn't watch football games or even get the scores afterwards. UM should be 4 or 5. State should be top 10.
