Vols AD says no to revenge death match with Lane Kiffin's USC in 2011

This would have been a cool football game to watch, but Tennessee AD said "maybe later".

Understandable.  By the time "later" rolls around  UT should be a little bit better, Mike Garrett will be on California state pension, and USC football will probably be down 20 scholarships or more.

Yeah, this would be an awesome game to watch.  But I think 2012 or 2013 would be a better time for Tennessee to play them.  In 2013 USC will have about 65 scholarship players on their team, 15 of which will be true freshmen.  That doesn't project to be a good year for the Trojans.

I rarely wish for teams to fail miserably, but Kiffin's USC is the exception. Something about him just magnetizes hatred. I had no problem with them, per se, under Carrol but Kiffin needs to be destroyed in inhumane ways.

"I[n]f fairness to the Vols, they already have Cincinnati and North Carolina on their out-of-conference schedule; adding USC to that and an always-tough SEC schedule will be damn-near inhumane." That would be a brutal schedule, even with USC down somewhat. Kudos to the AD for not letting Kiffin succeed in feeding his egocentric self-hype machine.

They take their football as seriously in Tennessee as we here at Michigan; just ask Philip Fulmer. Certainly, the level of anger and resentment toward USC and Kiffin will one day make for a pretty watchable game; Tennessee taking the "at a time and place of our choosing" would certainly be good business in the minds of their fans.

Good for them.

Its tough to throw any support towards Tennessee, if only because of the fact that some of their fanbase strongly hate us.  Howeva, I've got their back every day and twice on football Saturdays against Kiffin.

That's too bad.  That would have been a really fun game to watch, if only to see the look on Kiffin's face as his car pulled into Knoxville...

Why bother firing Kiffins before 2011? Nobody's going to want to come near that program until the sanctions are over. USC already hired the only guy (Kiffin) who was crazy enough to take the job before the sanctions were even official. He was the 3rd or 4th choice as it was IIRC.
