Way to go Sierra! Go Blue!

Just Kidding....but seriously.

It's not a good idea to even jokingly disparage one of Michigan's best performing sports programs.
If you went solely on performance based metrics, this would be a Men's gymnastics/softball blog over the past 10 years.

...with a little swimming thrown in for good measure.

Thank you! I was in a meeting trying to do this off the top of my head and knew there was at least another strong program and could not remember what it was. That was it!

They should use the behind homeplate view more often on replays of homeruns. It was cool in that video to watch the ball disappear in the distance.

Pretty rad commercial. We love the subject, but it's also well produced.

I think we will be the Pre-Season #1....2 at the worst.....and cant wait to see the out of conference schedule..Hutch ALWAYS plays brutal non conf schedules and I love that

Feb 12: South Florida – Florida, Illinois St., Michigan, South Carolina, South Florida, Virginia Tech
Feb 19: Florida St. – Florida St., Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia Tech
Feb 26: Palm Springs – Bethune Cookman, Boise St. BYU, California, Colorado St., Florida, Fresno, Fullerton, Georgia, Long Beach, Loyola Marymount, Long Island, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico St., NC State, Northridge, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Oregon, Oregon St., San Diego St., San Jose, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington
Looks like michigan and florida will duke it out again very early for the 3rd year in a row ..likely ranked 1 and 2
A potential match up with oklahoma in Palm Springs would be interesting--- romero's little sister will be a freshman there, right?

Nice work finding those early season tournaments that Michigan is in. It's also likely that Michigan is in the Judi Garman Classic (which they've been in every year for a while) which is the first week of March, right after that Palm Springs tournament.
From a quick scan of opposing teams' released schedules this is what I found for the rest of the schedule so far.
Wednesday 3/16 vs. Eastern Michigan
Tuesday 3/22 vs. Western Michigan
Friday 4/8 @ Nebraska
Saturday 4/9 @ Nebraska
Sunday 4/10 @ Nebraska
Wednesday 4/13 @ Michigan State
Tuesday 4/19 vs. Michigan State
Wednesday 4/27 vs. Central Michigan

If this schdule is correct, this will be Michigan's second trip to Nebraska. Nebraska has not played at Michigan yet.

FUCK YEAH

I thought last year was the year and they were one game away. Maybe this is the year.

Almost everyone is back. That's the best part about softball - when great players become Seniors . . . they are still in school.
When I was watching Romero last year, I kept having this reflexive nagging feeling that I got as a habit from watching football and basketball . . . it's too bad she'll leave early. I forgot that not everything is like football or basketball.

Hard to believe both Sierra's are seniors this year. I agree. So glad you get to watch them for 4 years in softball.
October 5th, 2015 at 4:20 PM ^
Time flies, that's for sure. I remember thinking when they were freshmen what a privilege it was going to be to get to watch them compete for four whole years with no worries about going pro. Hard to believe it's the last time 'round this year. I just hope they've saved the best for last!

She's gorgeous

You never said that about Jake Butt.

She is for sure.

in a hetrosexual kind of way. She was one of my favorites when she was here, and I am happy she landed an Asst. coaching job.

Sierra Romero is awesome. One of the finest athletes ever to don the Maize and Blue. And, yes, gorgeous as well.
October 5th, 2015 at 4:06 PM ^
But Sydney Romero opted for the place where the corn is as high as an elephant's eye, so she'll be an Oklahoma Sooner. LINK

Isn't Nikki Nemitz's little sister coming? Is she still a year away?
October 5th, 2015 at 4:19 PM ^
She is a freshman now.
Here's a thing I'm working on if anyone wants to learn more about the team: http://michigansoftball.pwnz.org/

Thanks for putting this together. I'm very excited about this team. I was very excited about every team since I started following them in 2005.
