Scot Loeffler 1st coach ejected under newer rule; Steve Morrison and Terry Malone call plays
Former UM QB and current Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler was ejected in the third quarter of their victory against Buffalo after two unsportsmanlike penalties on back-to-back drives. He became the first head coach ejected since a rules change in 2016 mandating ejection after two such penalties on a coach or player in a game.
His former teammate/LB coach Steve Morrison and former UM coach Terry Malone coached the team to a 56-44 victory in his absence.

Great job explaining what the hell happened. I mean the link. Zero video of anything that transpired; good job ESPN, way to keep up the good work.

The post doesn't bother to describe it either. I'm still completely in the dark.

The QB who faked a knee and then ran for a TD should’ve been ejected. They don’t want defenders rushing in on these plays, but you get this kind of bullshit when they let up. - It may not have been as bad as I make it sound, but it was still dirty.

It should be an unsportsmanlike to do a fake kneel down if it’s the end of a game. But only then. If it’s the end of the first half…fair play.

I watched the replay and that's not exactly what happened. On the prior play, the QB kneeled and Buffalo called timeout. Buffalo still had a timeout so BG really needed a first down. So BG took the field not in victory formation but ace with two wides. QB dropped back looking to scramble around and burn some time. But then saw a window and took it.
Smart play would have been to slide after getting the first down. But hey ... can't blame the results. Had the first down call been a handoff, there would have been no controversy with the QB run.

Wow! More flattering news for people associated with Michigan football. /s

That staff of Michigan Men is currently 6-20 overall (3-15 in the MAC). And, yet, I fear that some members of Team Lloyd would have them at the top of the list (because some of them were around for the "natty," I guess) if Harbaugh rides off into the sunset.

There is pessimism and then there is just pure silliness.
1. Unless Michigan completely implodes which is possible, but not particularly likely, this team is likely to go 9-3 or 10-2. Harbaugh isn’t going to be appealing enough to get a better offer nor bad enough to get fired.
2. Scott Loeffler is not going to be on anybody’s list for anything other than head coaches likely to get fired at the end of this season.
If there were sarcastic jokes to be made, a second chance for Brady Hoke would have been a much better choice.

Rich Rod’s lawsuit against him was dropped, he would be available more than likely.

Steve Morrison. Haven't heard that name since I was a kid.
Glad to hear he's coaching and is getting results. My first memory of him was (I believe, because again young) him starting next to stud Erik Anderson at ILB in I feel was a 3-4 defense and being a bad ass.
