My family and I will be attending our first spring game this Saturday. Is there tailgating?  Does it cost to park even though the game is free?  I’ve been to games while on leave from the military. Now that I’m retired and home I need to make up for lost time. Any insight welcomed. Thank you and GO BLUE!

Caveat: I have not been to a spring game, so I don't know how much the tailgating experience changes with fewer people.

Depending on your style, you might consider Allmendinger Park. I like tailgating there for big games, since it is less busy, good for families, and easy come and go.

If you like partying, you have to go to the golf course. It's a beautiful display of a certain range of humanity.

Lately we have been going out beforehand. I have tailgated at Pioneer or other locations around the stadium. I dont recall ever paying much to park or anything at all.

I recommend making sure both the "frank" and the "beans" are clear before rapidly pulling up the zipper on a new pair of blue jeans.

I figured the tags would be enough.  I don’t know why the s trailed with a space. I did not put one in. I don’t know why this is relevant with my question.

The only spring game I attended was before Dennard's final season, so the following info may be useless.

Parking: the city views the spring game like any other game-day. We parked in front of Yost thinking, "this isn't a real game" and, unfortunately, ignored the signs that said cars would be towed on game-days. Long story short: spent the rest of the day figuring out how to pay the ticket then taxiing out to the impound yard, paying like $400 to get the rental car freed then drive back to AA to enjoy the evening.

Game experience: it was cool seeing the guys running around, it was mostly a scripted practice. The highlight, and lowlight, was probably the legends (?) game. Was cool to see some of the former greats out there making plays and having fun. Unfortunately, one of them blew out his knee.

All in all, I would recommend going especially if the weather is nice. We got to enjoy a fun weekend in AA and the campus is beautiful that time of year. Just know that everything is an opportunity for someone to profit, so "free" is a bit of a stretch.

Enjoy your time, Go Blue!

MGOBLUE just put a guide out for the spring game saying NO tailgating in any parking lot. Is that to calm the drinking?  Does this mean you can’t cook?
