Question about the UV from yesterday

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on
Honest question about yesterday's Unverified Voracity. What the HELL is that picture of that kid in the Western Michigan uniform. Was that taken from a WMU engineering school intramural game or something? I admit, I'm a little older, don't have time for sportscenter and sometimes go periods of time not keeping up on the inside jokes here. That said, I feel like I wouldn't have missed whatever that is. There is no way a Division 1 college basketball program put a dude like that on the court right?!? Please someone explain what the story is.

He seemed like a really decent dude.

"Stainbrook described his look as old school underestimated – with the knee pads and Rec Specs. He said that he’s used to being underestimated and being under the radar.

Stainbrook explains why he drives for Uber. He gave up his scholarship to his brother and needed to drive to pay his tuition. He actually drives a 2004 Buick."

That guy was a starter on Xavier this last NCAA tournament and played fairly well.  I think Brian was trying to make some commentary about either grad transfers or small school Michigan guys recruited by the MAC.  He was a highly entertaining character to watch.  I think Alex had some commentary on him during his preview of the Sweet 16 as well.

I worked at Western when he was there, can confirm he was a weird dude. Source: me and everyone else in athletics.
