In fact, I don't know of any pro day that uses electrically timed equipment or if it's even allowed.

Besides, hand times typically are faster than electric times; there is absolutely no benefit for a school to go to something that would make them look worse relative to other schools.

In this case, it's better to use a hand time a let people make the adjustment than it is to be electrically timed and remove all doubt.

You hear "4.5 40 hand-timed" vs "4.67 40" and even if you know you are applying an adjustment you look more favorably to the former than the latter. It's the same reason why rosters inflate weights and heights despite everyone knowing everyone else does it to some degree.
