You didn't make a stencil? I have some operations management homework you can do if you have more time on your hands...

Nope no stencil, just drew it on and cut. Damn pumpkin was so thick I started with an exacto knife and had to move up to a steak knife to get through!

I wish I had the time (and the talent). Since he is getting so much press lately, it would be pretty special if someone could sculpt a Lloyd Brady pumpkin.
BTW - Beautiful piece of work!

If I made one like that in my neighborhood it would be smashed in the streets by the morning sadly.

You are my hero. Mine from last year:
As you can tell, I'm good at nothing (art, using knives, life in general) whereas you're good at everything (carving, understanding proportions/perspective, life in general).
October 1st, 2010 at 11:16 PM ^
You're at least very good at MGoPosting. And really, what else matters?
October 1st, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
That pumpkin kicks some serious ass. And I thought I was representing by putting out a scarecrow holding a Michigan flag.
Well done.

This thread is full of Halloween win. Good work to all pumpkin carvers. Going to get ours today, I'll have to try to talk my wife into doing a cool Michigan carving as I'm like the poster above who sucks at most of life.

have quite those skills, but I plan on a winged helmet pumpkin. The hole will be in front where the facemask is. Artificial dreds will hang out the back next to a 16!
