OT: Urban Meyer Retires -- Confirmed
December 8th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
I'm friends with valdez's brother Valtorre he plays football at central and I don't think Michigan is gonna get him even with this. ask him about Val a lot he told me if Oregon got serious about him he would leave Florida for oregon. then as sad as it is MSU may be next. Could be wrong but this is what Valtorre told me and his brother is a pretty reliable source

He's going to make a straight-up trade with Florida: Meyer for RR
December 8th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
(At least I think it was yours) Instead of Rodriguez and Mullen squaring off for the Michigan job, they're playing for the Florida job!
December 8th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
this happens so often it needs its own tag.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
if it's true I hope his health is okay and not the issue.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
not look like he was enjoying himself the entire season. I doubt that he is retiring though.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
OMG. Doesn't look like I am going to get any work done today. Heck maybe, I should come back after the new year.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:11 PM ^
That muck ain't gonna rake itself.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:15 PM ^
What on earth shall we do with all those recruits?
December 8th, 2010 at 2:17 PM ^
I find myself +1ing you constantly. You are good people.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:18 PM ^
Any poachables out there? I was going to say yummy poachables, but even joking about yummy sends chills down my spine.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:12 PM ^
I think Mississippi State's coach Dan Mullen, who was the O-Coordinator at Florida is a pretty good bet as a replacement. Charlie Strong, their former D-Coordinator, who is now the head coach at Louisville is also a possibility.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:14 PM ^
Putting money on Mullen.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:16 PM ^
Best wishes to Coach Meyer and hope that he will maintain good health. I wouldn't mind seeing Miss St. lose their coach to Gainesville within the next week though...
December 8th, 2010 at 2:35 PM ^
I think the older fanbase would prefer Steve Spurrier since he is pretty much a God down there. The younger fanbase would probably prefer Mullens since he is a huge part of Meyer's success.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
I suggest Mullen takes the job now and not worry about the Gator Bowl.

lol urbans gon u wnt 2 come to UM? we got wings lol
December 8th, 2010 at 2:16 PM ^
Wow, simply just wow. On a slightly more Michigan related note (and a more depressing note), could this be the reason that Coach Magee went to Florida?
December 8th, 2010 at 2:18 PM ^
i doubt it. with how this season went, i would be stunned if Florida went with a coach who hasn't helmed a team at some level
December 8th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
you know whatever man, you don’t even know man, you dead, I’m laughing at you man, all invisible and shit just laughin at you, man cause I’m, you opened up the wrong mf'ing can of worms (expletive), you opened up the wrong can of worms man, cause this is you, goin’ ‘aw man what’s this can of worms I’m gonna try this can of worms out man, see what’s up in here man’ and you f'in’ open it up and it takes you a long time cause you got one of them old fashioned can openers that ain’t electric that you like crank out like this and all that shit and you finally get the top up and then you go to peel the top off (and be careful cause that shit is sharp) but you pull it back and you just lookin at it and you say ‘look at dat it’s nothing but stupid lil can of worms what’s that about i don’t give a shit about that lil can of worms’ then when your back is turned all them worms climb up on top each other and form ONE BIG WORM, and kill you with this worm-like ferocity... December 8th, 2010 at 2:19 PM ^
I may be wrong but I thought I heard he was in Chicago that day and not Florida.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:16 PM ^
I'll believe Urban Favre when it actually happens.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:18 PM ^
Hellooooo new DC.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:30 PM ^
That is all.
December 8th, 2010 at 3:00 PM ^
I'm curious, is calling someone a "doucher" in fact a compliment compared to calling that same person a "douche bag?" Maybe I'm thinking of the "er" as referring to the applicator and the "bag" a referring to the secondary waste. Most likely, I'm simply thinking too deeply into it (no pun intended). . . .
December 8th, 2010 at 3:11 PM ^
How does "douche nozzle" fit in with your logic?
December 8th, 2010 at 3:25 PM ^
That's it.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
Scott Van Pelt just confirmed it on his radio show.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
FLORIDA SHOULD HIRE HARBAUGH!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
December 8th, 2010 at 2:28 PM ^
IF (& THAT IS A VERY BIG IF) DB intends to replace RR, his whole time frame might back fire on him in a huge way.
/becoming more obvious by the day.
December 8th, 2010 at 3:45 PM ^
I don't think JH has any interest in the Florida job. If he has a problem with the way Michigan has handled its admissions in the recent past, imagine the kind of rant he could go on coaching in the SEC. I think it's Michigan or NFL if Harbaugh decides to leave Stanford, IMHO.
December 8th, 2010 at 4:38 PM ^
That you interpret Harbaugh's statement on UM admissions as conveying his ethical concerns regarding admissions. I'm sure he'd find it in his heart to embrace the more ... grassroots style of recruiting favored at Florida, if it was somewhere he otherwise wanted to go.
(He'd be crazy to go to Florida, of course. He's a fucking hero in Palo Alto right now, and can go up against the Pac-10 - as opposed to the SEC - while always having the admissions card in his back pocket to explain any shortcomings on the field.)
December 9th, 2010 at 1:46 AM ^
Totally agree that he's the man at Stanford and will continue to be with results ranging anywhere from pretty good to great (like this season).
My comment failed to articulate that if he wanted to leave Stanford, he would go to a place where he didn't have to compete with Nick Satan, Huston Nutt, Les Miles, etc. in a race to be the biggest slimer for recruits.
While I think he could be successful, I *think* JH is the type of coach that draws a line at a certain point. If he wants to work in a meat market, he'll take a job in the NFL.
December 8th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
So they can get an "Urban Watch" going, follow his every move, and set up an interview/announcement of where he'll be taking his talents once he inevitably comes out of retirement...AGAIN! (shoot me)

ESPN can send Rachel Nichols to creep outside his house.

Can send Rachel Nichols to creep outside MY house any day.
