OT: Stevie Johnson TD celebration.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:50 PM ^
and not know that any celebration that involves going on the ground results in a penalty.
Plex may be a Sparty but he did his time and has moved on.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:59 PM ^
I'm pretty sure his nickname is Plax.
And that celebration was hilarious.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:29 PM ^
Plax's reaction was more hilarious! They asked him what he thought and he said "He was just playing football and having some fun.. I was having more fun though watching him drop 3 game winning catches"
November 28th, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
Plex:
Looks more Hawkeye to me.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:51 PM ^
I didn't think too much of it when I saw it. He made fun of a dumb ass, big deal. If anything he should be cut for dropping a ball right in his hands that would have been a TD.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
Amen, that ball couldn't have been thrown any better. As far as mocking someone for Plaxidentally shooting themselves, I couldn't care less. The demand for PC is too much these days. Everybody is so afraid of offending people. If i was Plaxico I would tell that fool to look at the scoreboard.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:57 PM ^
Missed the ball on a kickoff which turned into a TD that lost the game. That should be the story it's getting underplayed.

Common denominator = Sparty No!
November 28th, 2011 at 5:00 PM ^
If there's ever been a human being who deserves to be mocked more than Plax, he does not come readily to mind. I am instantly a Stevie (seriously?) Johnson fan.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
It was awesome. It'd be one thing if somebody shot Plax or his mom in the leg and Stevie Johnson made fun of him for it, but the dumbass shot himself. He was wearing sweatpants to a club, which I think is more egregious than the gunshot, but it's hard to imitate wearing sweatpants to a club in a TD dance.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
I don't get it. In my world, if you're dumb enough to shoot yourself in the leg with a gun you were concealing in your sweatpants while clubbing then you must accept the mockery that ensues later. I mean, he wore sweatpants in a manhattan night club, come on.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
I was watching this game and when I saw it I did think it was pretty funny. Maybe a fine and some internal reprimand or something would be appropriate. Cutting a guy over that is over the top.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
Which talking head was arguing for cutting him?
November 28th, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
I thought it was absolutely hilarious, but it was in poor taste for sure. Cutting him over just that is pretty ridiculous, he's been productive for the Bills, and was succeeding on Revis Island yesterday.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
Making fun of Tebow by mock-praying is totally fine. Making fun of some dumb-a** who shot himself is totally unacceptable.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
Both are hilarious and both are acceptable. That's what the tv people should say.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
but even if one was deemed not funny, should that be the criteria for a penalty (much less getting cut)? Is this the NFL or the Gong Show?
November 28th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
I don't think anyone was mocking Tebow praying. They were mocking the "Tebowing" craze. I don't think any Lions player went out there and said: "HEY GUYZ! LET'Z MOCK GOD 'N STUFF!!1!" I mean, come on.
I think any mocking celebration is hilarious. Stevie's "Why So Serious?" shirt last year while playing "Batman & Robin" last year was great. The shooting myself in the leg celebration was even better. I don't even see why people are so upset about it. This country is so hyper-sensative about things these days that there isn't really a First Amendment anymore. .
November 28th, 2011 at 6:15 PM ^
FYI the first amendment prohibts the government from taking away your right to free speech.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
but Plax's response was pretty great. We scored off his penalty on the next drive and he had 3 drops. Thats it.
or something to that affect.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
up until the jet crashing part of the celebration....that part may not go over so well..

double post
November 28th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
I don't have a problem with the shooting the leg, but falling to the ground and taking a 15-yd penalty was just plain stupid.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:36 PM ^
...don't care for any kind of mockery on the field. Scoring points > pithy pantomime.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:38 PM ^
Funniest celebration in years. Kudos for him to mocking Plax and making it known that he acted a fool up in there....up in there...
November 28th, 2011 at 6:12 PM ^
A) Plaxico had a very mature reaction today. Good for him. He's a Sparty but it's good to see he's turned his life around.
B) Johnson is not being cut. Merril Hodge was saying if he were the coach, he'd cut him.
C) Johnson also had a very tasteless celebration regarding Jets crashing in NYC. C'mon mane, I'm sure you weren't going for that but you gotta think people are going to take it like that. Gailey needs to sit him down and chew him out.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:33 PM ^
I remember when Randy Moss mock mooned the crowd at Lambeau and Joe Buck went ballistic, calling it a despicable act. They dont call the NFL the "No Fun League" for nothing.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:33 PM ^
I thought it was funny. Tasteless, but funny.
But the guy's a dick for doing this, and costing his team the game. If this was after a game winning score, or they were a zillion ahead, fine. But with the game still on the line? Assinine.
November 28th, 2011 at 7:16 PM ^
Stevie Johnson is growing into one of the better young wide receivers in the league. I hope they do cut him so that my team can sign him.
November 28th, 2011 at 7:34 PM ^
His celebration isn't the real issue.
The fact that he dropped an easy touchdown catch and another more difficult touchdown catch is the problem. Had he caught one of those balls, the Bills would have no problem with his dance.
There's no way he'll be cut, but he should be benched for a game. For football reasons. He failed to do his job.
November 28th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
EDIT: Never mind, I get it.
Funny. 2nd part was classless, but funny.
