OT: Stevie Johnson TD celebration.

Submitted by natesezgoblue on
I'm watching ESPN and the talking heads are saying that the is a strong possibility that the Bills could cut him over this. Am I the only only one that chuckled when they saw the highlight? is this a case of everyone being a little too PC and over sensitive? For those that didn't see it, he scored a TD and then imitated Plaxico shooting him self in the leg.

I didn't think too much of it when I saw it. He made fun of a dumb ass, big deal. If anything he should be cut for dropping a ball right in his hands that would have been a TD.

Amen, that ball couldn't have been thrown any better.  As far as mocking someone for Plaxidentally shooting themselves, I couldn't care less.  The demand for PC is too much these days.  Everybody is so afraid of offending people.  If i was Plaxico I would tell that fool to look at the scoreboard.

Missed the ball on a kickoff which turned into a TD that lost the game. That should be the story it's getting underplayed.

If there's ever been a human being who deserves to be mocked more than Plax, he does not come readily to mind.  I am instantly a Stevie (seriously?) Johnson fan.

It was awesome. It'd be one thing if somebody shot Plax or his mom in the leg and Stevie Johnson made fun of him for it, but the dumbass shot himself. He was wearing sweatpants to a club, which I think is more egregious than the gunshot, but it's hard to imitate wearing sweatpants to a club in a TD dance.

I don't get it. In my world, if you're dumb enough to shoot yourself in the leg with a gun you were concealing in your sweatpants while clubbing then you must accept the mockery that ensues later. I mean, he wore sweatpants in a manhattan night club, come on.

I was watching this game and when I saw it I did think it was pretty funny.  Maybe a fine and some internal reprimand or something would be appropriate.  Cutting a guy over that is over the top.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious, but it was in poor taste for sure.  Cutting him over just that is pretty ridiculous, he's been productive for the Bills, and was succeeding on Revis Island yesterday.

I don't think anyone was mocking Tebow praying.  They were mocking the "Tebowing" craze.  I don't think any Lions player went out there and said: "HEY GUYZ!  LET'Z MOCK GOD 'N STUFF!!1!"  I mean, come on.

I think any mocking celebration is hilarious.  Stevie's "Why So Serious?" shirt last year while playing "Batman & Robin" last year was great.  The shooting myself in the leg celebration was even better.  I don't even see why people are so upset about it.  This country is so hyper-sensative about things these days that there isn't really a First Amendment anymore.  .

but Plax's response was pretty great. We scored off his penalty on the next drive and he had 3 drops. Thats it.

or something to that affect.

A) Plaxico had a very mature reaction today.  Good for him.  He's a Sparty but it's good to see he's turned his life around.

B) Johnson is not being cut.  Merril Hodge was saying if he were the coach, he'd cut him.

C) Johnson also had a very tasteless celebration regarding Jets crashing in NYC.  C'mon mane, I'm sure you weren't going for that but you gotta think people are going to take it like that.  Gailey needs to sit him down and chew him out.

I remember when Randy Moss mock mooned the crowd at Lambeau and Joe Buck went ballistic, calling it a despicable act.  They dont call the NFL the "No Fun League" for nothing.

I thought it was funny. Tasteless, but funny.

But the guy's a dick for doing this, and costing his team the game. If this was after a game winning score, or they were a zillion ahead, fine. But with the game still on the line? Assinine.

His celebration isn't the real issue.

The fact that he dropped an easy touchdown catch and another more difficult touchdown catch is the problem. Had he caught one of those balls, the Bills would have no problem with his dance.

There's no way he'll be cut, but he should be benched for a game. For football reasons. He failed to do his job.
