OT: Annual Running of the Gumps

Submitted by Blue N Bama on

Living in Alabama I have to tolerate bama fans, however, they do provide countless enterainment. Every year when they have fan day they open the gates at the stadium and the sprint begins. This event to non-alabama fans has become known as the running of the gumps, (i.e. Forest Gump). It is hilarious to witness. Can't get embed to work, but the link also has pictures which are priceless.

MAD HATTER!  You humans must refer to her/him/it as "one who consumes a caloric surplus" or curvy or plus sized.   These people are the majority now so we have to embrace them as beautiful and give them our full support otherwise you get called labeled a fat shamer or something similar. This isn't the 1950's when you could beat the fat out of lard face at school and scare him into a healthy diet with plenty of exercise.

No, you have to embrace everyone now. People are proud of their fat bodies now. They don't want to be eduated.  That's offensive. We can't tell them to change because that would mean admitting they made poor choices and they need to learn new habits and realize food companies are pumping them full of sugar and corn syrup. That's hard.  It's easier to take selfies and post about how your proud and strong and don't need to fit an ideal body image.

It's one thing if you don't want to let Cosmopolitan inform your body image, but if your doctor is telling you to review your eating habits and lose weight, it's not because he or she is a shallow asshole.

Uh ohhhh.  Did we find someone who isn't sensitive to people who have physical disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities? I mean I get it can be hard to differentiate between someone who has an intellectual disability and an Alabama fan since those are usually one in the same (ba- dum-dum-ching), but this lady seems to actually have a disability.

I'm disappointed....I thought this was going to be some kind of 5K to kick off football season where everybody dressed up as Forrest Gump.   THAT would be funny.

Instead I see a bunch of fat rubes running to get autographs.   Also, how are the fat guys in front?  WTF?

I assume this is the still for the poster for "Escape From Bryant-Denny", starring Nick Saban as himself and a tube of some viscous, slimy substance (such as certain thermal sealants) as Lane Kiffin. In this installment of the "Alabama Tales" series, fans are forced via mind-control to do terrible and, in some cases, unflattering things for Nick's autograph.

It seems like the layout of this event was specifically designed to get the die-hards to sprint the length of the field...were they just baiting them to get some funny pics and pageviews for al.com? CONSPIRACY
