Those are atrocious.  I'm all for supporting wounded worriors, but come on.

Since these are gray and with the rules stating that teams can go color jersey vs. color jersey if they are distint enough, do you think Michigan goes with the home jerseys?  YELLOW ALTERNATE?????

My thoughts exactly.

These can't be real...  right?

I mean, is it patriotic to say something when someone is doing something with the stars and stripes, and it looks FUGLY?

At least when NFL/CFB teams wear the pink for breast cancer, BOTH teams are doing it.  Just seems a little arrogant to suggest that the Northwestern Wildcats are somehow more representative of "Merican" values than the Michigan Wolverines.

So, insulting AND fugly!

Edit:  Didn't know this was going for Wounded Warriors charity.  Still, there should be some tasteful reference to our nation's armed forces on BOTH teams' uniforms, like US flag sticker on back of helmet or stars and stripes on gloves.  Would be a little more tasteful, as well as respectful in that it would illustrate the NATIONAL nature of these soldiers' sacrifices.

is better than you think.  I really expect us to go 9-3 and then watch State either beat Ohio or play them very close.  I don't think it is hyperbole anymore to say that they have the best defense in the country.  That game had very little to do with whether we beat Northwestern.

Sparty will of course choke against Ohio and in whatever bowl game they end up in. Which is pretty much why I despise Sparty. They won their season on Saturday and now it's back to pumpkin time.

If MSU didn't lose again, you would still discredit their season somehow. Fact is, the last 2 times MSU has beaten UM, they've produced two 11 win seasons, a B1G title, a division title/BCG berth, and the B1G's only significant win over an SEC team in, what, 10 years? The win prior to those, MSU had a losing record coming into the game due to an elongated QB battle, and used the UM win as a base for a bowl berth. The win prior to that, MSU played @PSU the final game of the season for a share of the B1G championship. The "UM is MSU's Super Bowl" meme is tired and invalid. Wise up and pay attention.

No. I'm the variety of Michigan fan that saves all their hate for OSU. I root for MSU when they're not playing us. I'll stop being annoyed when they win a bowl game or beat a top-ranked team. I'm fine with them being better for a year - it happens - but they always seem to choke down the road. And if you don't think they consider UM-MSU their most important game of the year, you are mistaken.

Brian, please please please create a module that allows you to flag a group or posters and restrict their posting as a group.  Then lump all these people who are doing nothing but whining into a "do not post for 7 days after a loss" group and be done with it.  It'd be nice to have intelligent discussion about things between the people who have perspective.

Thanks for your service and I appreciate all you're doing for America.

That being said, I'm tired of the military and over-the-top patriotism being conflated with sports. A uniform stands for the school it represents. Northwestern is not Army, Navy, the Air Force, etc. It's a private school on the banks of Lake Michigan. The WWP is great. It really is. But there are other ways of providing advocacy and raising money for the WWP than to roll out some really incredibly ugly, gaudy uniforms that in no way even remotely attempt to use Northwestern's actual school colors. Donate a portion of the ticket sales. Set up a booth at the game. Have Coach Fitz and maybe Hoke do a PSA that airs during the broadcast. Wear a flag patch. But turning your uniform into a cheesy textile 4th of July parade, even if they're being auctioned off, is too much.

To each their own, but these patriotic uniforms and camo elements are just about as grating as Pinktober for breast cancer awareness, etc. Let sports be sports, let uniforms be uniforms, and let charity be charity.

Thank you, I agree with you. Sometimes it just feels like exploitation. It's kind of how I felt with the whole "Boston Strong" thing and then when I saw they placed the World Series trophy at that spot. I'm sorry but they didnt win because of that tragedy, they won because of their team. Sorry I digress but I again I agree. Save the WWP for Army, Navy, Air Force.

I can see differently, the WS win was part of the city and morale, and a theme for the sox throughout the season. It wasn't a random money grab or philanthropic motion... the NW UNIS SURE, OVER THE TOP AND ZERO connection between school and wwp other than under armour as the WWP and NU supplier.
