Dunno man, I'm getting a Charlie Strong beating Oklahoma to save his job vibe for MSU vs. Nebraska. Mike Riley has to prove something soon or he could honestly be a one and done. Here's to another crazy night game.

I actually think there still is an outside possibility of getting the 4th seed. Win out, get into the B1G 10 Championship game and win (with Iowa and OSU being undefeated when they face us) and then hoping that the PAC 12 champ is a 2 loss stanford.

EDIT: also probably need Northwestern and BYU to go 10-2

Also, this basically shows that if you are in a Group of 5 conference, you'll need to go undefeated a crazy good OOC to make the Top 4. Memphis is at #15 having one of the best wins of any team (vs. Ole Miss). Even if they go undefeated (winning against AP Top 25 Temple, #25 Houston, and fringe Top 25 team Navy), they still probably won't be able to make it.

the committee used a variety of factors, but for different teams.  It seems some teams were looked at in terms of scheduling and strength of victory, while others simply passed the eye test.  It is early, and the rankings just might flesh themselves out as teams beat each other.

I think the BIG 12 upcoming round robin is going to eliminate those teams, leaving the BIG 12 out again.  I also could see ND beating Stanford, leaving the PAC 12 out.

Here's my issue with Bama at #4. Let's say they lose to LSU this weekend giving them 2 home losses. Where would they fall in the rankings? No chance you could convince me that Bama's two losses would be better than Michigan's two losses. Dropping from #4 to #18 is unprecedented.

It's all self-solving.  Because if we finish with 2 losses, not only will our 2 losses be "good" losses, but we will have knocked off Ohio State which gives us a "good" win.  Alabama won't have a comparable good win, and their 2 losses are not that much better than our 2 losses.

with 4 regular season games left, a lot can happen. If we beat PSU, Rutgers, and Indiana, we will be sitting at around 10-12 by the time we head into that OSU game. If we beat an undefeated OSU we will be sitting at around number 7 or 6. OSU would fall several spots as questions about their strength of schedule would re-emerge. If we take on an undefeated Iowa in the Big Ten Championship and win, I'd be pretty surprised if they keep us out.

We'll see if Clemson is finally for real. I know many have tried to drop the 'Clemsoning' meme but Clemson still has yet to have a program defining win. Every time they hit the national spotlight they seem to fold. Yes, they'd good for a huge win every year, but they can never finish.
