I know there are many topics relative, but wanted to get some opinions from some who we don't hear from often.

On field + Blake flashing "65" after applying a nail into the OSU coffin.
Anger moment- When the 3rd "tush push" TD was scored on the defense vs Maryland.
Surprise- Josh Wallace quietly being a not just good, but VERY good BIG10 CB.
Favorite Feature- Duh ..UFR.. smash F5 every Wednesday at the cubicle .

Hope to hear from some of the others!

regular board idiot, not a lurker, so won’t answer the questions

but fun to see lurker options on the questions asked

i should have way more points than I do now. I think I have like 44.5k points but at one point I got docked 34k points for saying “it’s ok to be repub, it’s ok to be dem, we’re all human beings, just with different opinions, and that’s ok”

expecting to lose ~44.5k points now for reiterating it

I was a non user name lurker for years. Then I realized I had a void in my life and began posting.

Surprise players: the non star dbs. Sabb and Johnson were huge for us towards the end.

I used to post frequently, but have moved to mostly lurker status. Although, it was through a single post the day after Christmas that another mgoblogger graciously sold me a couple tickets to the Rose Bowl this year. Best Christmas gift ever!!

  • Favorite on field memory:  literally being at the Rose Bowl with my wife this year. Virtually the whole game was wonderful. Possibly the best game I ever attended in my 46 years of Michigan games. Certainly the best Rose Bowl I've been at, having attended the game in both '94 and '04.
  • Not much angered me on the field this year. My anger/irritation was largely with things off the field.
  • Surprise - I suppose Thaw (soon to be gone) was a surprise. The rest of the team was already good in 2022. Maybe a second surprise was Kenneth Grant . . . I'll never forget seeing him run down the PSU RB. Incredible.
  • Favorite feature . . . very hard to pick a favorite. I love most of Brian's writing. I love having a single place to find Michigan coverage. Seth has been a tremendous part of making mgoblog work.

However, upon reflection, it has been several members of the mgocommunity who have been my favorite feature. More than that, life changing.

  • I can't share details, but it was through the friendship and then counsel of another  mgoblog reader that wonderful things happened for my family. My son's life changed radically, possibly keeping him out of jail, to the point where he is now successful, makes more money than me, has his head on straight, and will finish his degree this year. My daughter, again indirectly through help through this reader, has been off of heroin for 2 1/2 years. (EDIT:  and I am pretty sure this reader has no clue what a massive help and difference he was, because of an indirect recommendation.)
  • The generosity of an mgoreader to sell me two Rose Bowl tickets, around the 20 yard line in section 17, was just astounding. This individual could have sold on the open market for thousands, but chose to let me as a fellow mgoblogger and Michigan fan go, selling slightly below what they paid the athletic department for the tickets. It was a very touching act of kindness for me to receive.

After pretty much a year off, I have to communicate sometime with one of the proprietors. After doing so, I will either continue to lurk, or move back to occasionally posting and commenting on other's posts.

Powerful story, and testament to how special this community is. To me there has been a culture change in this place. Not to say the culture was bad, but I think it was on the round table this week  where someone said that Michigan fans were like herding cats before. I couldn't agree more which is one of the reasons I feel comfortable contributing as I feel we are all pulling in the same direction.

I started lurking during the Rich Rod coaching search. I only created an account during SignGate. Brian, Seth, and team - appreciate all you do here! I spend way too much of my free time on this site.

Favorite on field memory of 2023?
I saw Kenneth Grant’s parents walking up the ramp in the stadium in Houston. I asked them if KG was going to run down anyone tonight. Got a laugh and I told them that him running down the PSU running back was my favorite play of the year. I said that I couldn’t believe that the biggest guy on the field was that fast.

On field moment that angered you of 2023?
Probably the interception that was called back on JJ’s first throw of the Rose Bowl. BPONE and PTSD flashbacks instantly came to mind.

Biggest surprise player of 2023?
Trente Jones. Not only is he a very talented tackle, he showed resilience that I don’t think I’ve ever seen from a player over the last year and a half. He didn’t pout or turn into a toxic teammate for not getting the starting job. He put his head down to be a great teammate and extra lineman. When his time came after the Zinter injury, the line actually became better! We have a lot of lovable players on this team, but Trente may be my favorite.

Favorite feature of MgoBlog?
Brian’s post-game summaries. He perfectly encapsulates the mood of the fanbase after each game. We’ve had some great times recently but also some really rough times going back the last 15 years. Reading his summary honestly has somehow helped me cope better with difficult loses.

Haven’t posted for awhile but I’m on here every day during season.

On Field: Also Blake throwing up the 65. Special mention to Kenneth Grant for tracking down PSU RB in the open field. 340lb men shouldn’t be able to do that.

Anger Moment: Normally this would be easy but we went 15-0 and won the NC so true anger moments were few and far between. I’ll go with Semaj muffing the punt in the Rose Bowl. Had strong here we go again vibes at the time.

Surprise Player: I’ll pick on Seth and say the pass rushing improvement of Jaylen Harrell. A man once thought to have zero pass rush ability made the game-sealing play, along with Rod Moore, when we needed it most.

Favorite Feature: this year it became FFFF. Alex had me amazingly prepared for what was going to happen against Bama and Washington.

Cheers to all. Go Blue. They Did It!!

Long time lurker, infrequent poster, and accused Sparty troll! LOL

On field + Corum's run against anOSU following Zinter's injury. I was there in row 96 in the corner of the stadium where Corum scored. Corum is my favorite UM RB of all time. I'm not Craig, but I go back as far as Gordon Bell, Rob Lytle, Harlen Huckleby...

Anger moment- The whole PR campaign around the "sign stealing scandal". Fuck the B1G, and its jealous hypocritical coaches. I can't wait to learn more about who illegally accessed UM computer systems.

Surprise- How clutch the team was. The first 9 games had me wondering how good they actually were, but when they faced adversity and needed to make plays against quality opponents they did (PSU, OSU, Bama, UW). As a long time BPONE sufferer, this season was so cathartic.

Favorite Feature- Hard to pick one. I love the writing overall. The podcasts are great. I do miss Opponent Watch, but nothing lasts.

I found this place in summer of '06.  Thought I might be the earliest lurker to report themselves in this thread but I see a couple others started even earlier.  Had an account at first but almost never posted, lost it, now I just lurk.  But if I'm not gonna create a new account to post now, I never will.

There's never anything I could say that would add to what's already posted here by the amazingly talented staff and readers.  Wait a day or two and SRKing will say everything I might have wanted to.

My biggest on field memory will be the two play series against OSU:  Zinter injury followed by Blake's TD run.  At that moment it hit me that we didn't just have a chance to go all the way, but it seemed inevitable that we were going to do it.

Nothing on the field angered me in 2023.  Well ok maybe the lack of holding on OLines continually grabbing our DE's jerseys.  The anger is more off the field at people losing their minds over the illegal scouting of dubious advantage.

Most surprising was the ++ development of just about every defensive player who had to room to improve this year.  Every young player took a big step forward.  How often does that happen?

How can I pick a favorite feature out of so much?  I can't even try.

Full time Lurker:

Favorite on field memory of 2023? The Don breaking for two bursts into the end zone in Q1 NCAA Championship.  I needed it, you needed it, we all needed it.

On field moment that angered you of 2023? Ummm, I don't know that I was really angered at any point this season.  This was the first that I never doubted this team in any game.

Biggest surprise player of 2023? Makari Paige

Favorite feature of MgoBlog? The Board

January 12th, 2024 at 10:02 PM ^

I've been reading since around 2008, finally got around to making a profile in 2014. My dad used to actually print off posts from here, I still have the 2009 ND Offense UFR lurking somewhere in my storage.

On Field: Stopping Milroe on the last 4th down. Being born in 1997, I became really accustomed to seeing the worst happen over and over.

Anger: tOSU's drive where they just methodically got a TD, started to feel like the end

Surprise: Kalel Mullings has looked like a legitimate running back this year

Favorite Feature: Stuck between UFRs and the MgoPod. Former is an automatic read for me and my dad, the latter is something I will make time for when it drops.

Favorite on field memory of 2023?

Watching Tyler Morris set fire to Alabama and score in our end zone; Milroe stopped!

On field moment that angered you of 2023?

so hard to be mad, BUT…Quinten Johnson’s interception against PSU being called back and still having  to absorb the 15-yard penalty.  Dumb rule!

Biggest surprise player of 2023?

Josh Wallace.  Absolute dude.  Tackled Burton when it mattered.

Favorite feature of MgoBlog?

Anything Bry_Mac writes.  His counterpunt before OSU 2021 is Blog legend stuff and should be enshrined somewhere as such.

On-field moment: “the stop” against Alabama

Anger Moment: back to the Rose Bowl, the offense during the entire 3rd quarter, seemed tight and conservative

suprise player: Josiah Stewart- his improvement was incredible

favorite festure: the board, on the blog everything single day, enjoy reading others comments and opinions.

I lurked for years before making an account. I’ve been lurking for years since making an account. I would need to see a counselor if I got negged to death…. 🤪

Favorite on field memory of 2023?

JJ holding up the 1 when he knew DE was going all the way.

On field moment that angered you of 2023?

Ryan Day’s meltdown. I mean, I love to see it, but I was beyond annoyed and I was sure a few calls were going to go his way to appease him.

Biggest surprise player of 2023?

Can I pick surprise coach of 2023? Sherrone Moore, for sure! I knew he was a good OC, but I didn’t anticipate his excellence at HC for some big games! I think JH is coming back, but when it’s time to pass the baton, the team is in great hands.

Favorite feature of MgoBlog?

The audio stuff is the best… Football podcasts and WTKA Round Tables. I refresh often during the season to get them as soon as they are released, and I miss them in the off season. I read everything on the front page, and I look through everything on the message board. Maybe my favorite written feature is Punt - Counter Punt. I especially appreciated that this year even the counter punt couldn’t predict a Michigan loss… just a close game.

Thanks to Brian, Seth, Alex, all of contributors and all of the board members - even the lurkers. It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine, and it’s great to be an MGoBlog member with every one of you.

This is a fun topic. I've been lurking for at least a decade. Made my first ever post this season - shows you how much I was invested in this season. I'll play:

Favorite on field memory of 2023? Moore's interception to seal the OSU win. That's followed closely by Corum's TD immediately after Zinter went out.

On field moment that angered you of 2023? JJ's initial "interception" in the Rose Bowl.

Biggest surprise player of 2023? Honestly, I wasn't surprised about any player this year. This team was just so incredibly deep. I'm gonna go with James Turner.

Favorite feature of MgoBlog? Those offense/defense player diagrams. Super useful since I have 3 young kids with constant activities and don't have time to learn about many non-Michigan players.

I love this topic so much! Anytime I see a lurker comment, I want to give them a million mgopoints. It’s like seeing a unicorn. Absolutely fantastic. So fun seeing tons of OG posters comment on this thread. Let’s posbang the hell out of them!

Stats: 13 years, 11 months. 250 mgopoints

Favorite on field memory: Milroe stop. It was like the end of 67-65 but better in every conceivable way.

Angry on field moment: Roman Wilson getting targeted against Maryland but not getting the call (it's cool I had to think so hard about this).

Surprise: Mullings and the fact that I'd get affirmatively excited when I saw him in the backfield because I suspected he was going to truck someone.

Favorite feature: Game columns.

I found my way here the Monday after the Oregon game in 2007 and was immediately hooked. I think Brian is one of the best writers writing about *anything* out there at this point. His DFW remembrance was perfect. I flipped on the TV Monday about the time the national anthem started and was surprised but also kind of not surprised by how emotional I was. Thinking about all of the OSU losses, about Toledo in 2008, the 2009 collapse, and the stupidity of the 2014 season. I thought about walking into a Celtics game in December 2008 and being very bummed that Sam McGuffie was transferring. Who knows how long this feeling lasts, but my feet are still a couple inches off the ground. Had I been in Houston, and had I seen Brian, I would have been one of the folks telling him how this crazy website made my life better than it'd be otherwise. Heck of a season.

15 years 6 mo

500 or so points

I check the site multiple times per day whether there is pending news or not.

On Field: the realization that we just beat Fucking Alabama. (Honorable mention: Corum's "six five")

Anger: accepting the goddamned suspension for "spygate"

Surprise: the way Edwards was (wasn't) used.

Fav Feature: UFR, FFF, any in-depth analysis.

Favorite memory: Rod Moore's interception. I was convinced we were about to lose. As my 8yo nephew said to me on the phone later that weekend - "Rod Moore saved us!"

Angry moment: interceptions vs. Bowling Green

Favorite feature: Brian's Monday game columns - a great way to relive the game, plus he almost always makes me laugh :)

2nd favorite moment of the season: when I realized my husband had finally gotten into the games as much as me. Granted, he's not an alum like I am, but I was so happy when he yelled at the tv for the 1st time since I've known him! He had always given me a hard time about yelling at the tv but now it seems he's as emotionally vested as me :)

Sorry I'm late to the party, was away the past few days.

Well, I've been a lurker since around 2009, and didn't even have a log in until 2016. But this is almost always my first daily site visit.

On field: there were so many, but I would say Jansen screaming on the radio (I couldn't watch) when Milroe was stopped in OT.

Anger moment: Not really anger, just BPONE: anytime our offense went into cocoon mode and punted. Heartbreak moment was watching Zinter go down.

Surprise: I didn't realize how good Josiah Stewart was. So glad he's coming back!

Favorite Feature: Opponent watch, always a great read! And HTTV hard copy. Oh and FFFF and Draftageddon. Oh and also the Known Friends and Trusted Agent.
