Little known (?) streaming option with ESPN and BTN for $30/mo

Little known to me anyway.  While researching streaming alternatives with solid sports offerings, I came across a service I had never heard of called Vidgo.  I don't know much about it, but it normally costs $40 per month and is discounted to $30 per month for anyone who subscribes by July 31st.  It gets the ESPNs, FS1 and 2, all the conference channels (BTN, Pac-12, SEC, ACC, etc.) and a lot of non-sports channels.

It's not perfect for a number of reasons, but some might find it to be a good option if and when there are any sports to watch again.  Some drawbacks:  no DVR, doesn't carry all the local channels (it gets ABC and Fox in a lot of markets but not all), no video on demand.  I haven't done a lot of research into it, but especially for those who use an antenna to get their local channels, this could be worth a look.

To watch what?

Edit: Actually Premier League is going strong as well as a few other soccer leagues in Europe.  But hey, it’s Europe and leaders have instituted so called draconian measures to get covid cases down, and it’s where comprehensive testing of athletes has shown no cases (as compared to the 5% of athletes in the US).

At first glance, it looks great for the price. The only channel it lacks that I would sorely miss is FoxSportsDetroit for Tigers and Red Wings games. Maybe that's a blessing.

In the FAQs section they indicate DVR capacity was to be available in June 2020.  Don't know if it is active or not, but means they were at least working on it.

Is DVR available?

Coming in June of 2020: Vidgo will offer 72 hour playback from many of the most popular channels so you won’t always need a DVR to catch up on recently missed shows or events. Vidgo will also offer a VOD (Video On Demand) library of free content from the networks we carry, allowing you to watch your favorite shows whenever you want. In addition, Vidgo offers a powerful search feature, which makes it easy to find the content you are looking for via live, playback, or on demand.

Is a cloud DVR with playback on multiple devices, all your local channels, FSD, and all the other channels worth an $30 a month? For me it is. YTTV it is.

I guess you all know that there are free streaming sites via Internet.  The links are posted here prior to games.

No problem for NCAA football and only B1G BB games are hard to find.

I have a large screen with a VGA/HDMI connexion so I can stream on a large screen.  This past season a majority of streams were in HD.

Living in Brittany so this is the only way to go from here.

I mentioned Vidgo in a post last week. Guess everyone missed it. Their sports lineup is very good, if we ever get back to this. I'm connected with their CEO on LinkedIn. He said he wasn't surprised that YTTV raised their rates, as all of them do, so expect Vidgo prices also to go up.

They currently lack a DVR and have promised this. To me, that's a deal breaker.

However, if you want NBC channels, Peacock is coming out in less than a week. I believe it's either free or $5, with ads, and $10 without.

I had Vidgo a couple of months as a free trial. It was pretty damn good, especially for the low price.

However, the no DVR is why I did not sign up after my trial ended. I was also told to expect DVR but do not believe they have it yet.

I settled on Sling which I will upgrade if/when sports come back.
