I fervently cheer for a team that wears green and white.

(But it is the Saskatchewan Roughriders, not Michigan Stae)

If this is his first game -…

If this is his first game - the goal ( no pun intended) should be to just have fun.  Remember that you are not obligated to closely follow the puck everywhere.  It is fun (and educational) to occasionally take a step back and watch the plays develop from a "zoomed out" perspective - watch what is happening away from the puck.

I seem to sort of recall an evening there with Captain Dave and the Psychedelic Loungecats.  One of those nights when the memories of the morning after are more ingrained in the memory than the night before.

What a silly comparison. …

What a silly comparison.  Most TB is highly treatable (drug-resistance is increasing) and there are vaccines.  World-wide TB is still a major issue, but that is primarily due to poor access to health care.

A quick google search identified the following: In 2017, the most recent data available, 515 deaths in the United States were attributed to TB. This is a decrease from 528 deaths attributed to TB in 2016.

In the US, there is nothing similar about TB and COVID other than the need to isolate and conduct thorough contact tracing of infected individuals.

It certainly does not mean it has not been peer-reviewed.

In the FAQs section they indicate DVR capacity was to be available in June 2020.  Don't know if it is active or not, but means they were at least working on it.

Is DVR available?

Coming in June of 2020: Vidgo will offer 72 hour playback from many of the most popular channels so you won’t always need a DVR to catch up on recently missed shows or events. Vidgo will also offer a VOD (Video On Demand) library of free content from the networks we carry, allowing you to watch your favorite shows whenever you want. In addition, Vidgo offers a powerful search feature, which makes it easy to find the content you are looking for via live, playback, or on demand.

They Shall Not Grow Old

They Shall Not Grow Old

Grandpa fought in WW1 for the Royal Winnipeg Rifles - as a kid I never understood why he didn't want to talk about the war - movies like this make you realize the horrors they, and all others who have served for their countries, have faced.

Just out of curiosity - is…

Just out of curiosity - is there a way to determine which teams/locations attacked which teams/locations the prior day?   I've been playing diligently the last 3 weeks or so, and it is nice to see the end results, but it would be interesting to see more detail in the strategy the various teams took the prior day to understand how we got to the end results.  Not asking for the overall Michigan strategy to be released, but I would assume that knowledge of who attacked whom would be public the following day in some form or another?

That's a good point.  In the past I traveled internationally 6-8 times per year for work, and I used to manage the little vacation time I took around those trips.  That won't be happening this year.

I work in an essential industry in California, but I am a desk-worker, so my last day at the office was March 13.  I live alone, but am also a natural introvert so have managed to deal with the isolation fairly easily.

I was surprised at how easily I changed into the new routine - as others have noted - I may do this every now and then once we get back to full operation.

Deaths per capita, and other stats, are reported here.   Not sure how solid this data is, but seems to lines up with the Johns Hopkins data on other stats.

(Am currently in Arizona with all my family who came down from Western Canada - all the day's activities were set based on us being able to watch the game - we have our priorities right!)

MSU's first offensive play.  They know Michigan is hyped and will be attacking hard. They counter with a screen that McGrone is ready for - picks off the rushed pass and returns for a pick 6.

Apparently a couple folks were arrested for violating the drone ordinance:

This link says there were no authorized drone flights on game day:

Looks like the 1880 team may have had a few all-academics as well - of the 13 players, 2 ended up with MDs and one a LLB!

One other potential positive…

One other potential positive for a Subaru for a young driver is that they are generally not known as being the fastest cars around.  They are still more than adequately powered for many/most uses.

I'm still driving an old 2002 Honda CR-V AWD - it hasn't seen snow for a few years, but it seemed to do OK during the years I did live in a northern climate.  At 160 hp, it is certainly not a speed demon.

Where does it say the staff …

Where does it say the staff (Jimmy and co. per your parlance) have not yet watched the films?  The players all indicated that it was a week off.  I fully expect that the film is all lined up, interpreted by the coaching staff, and ready to review with the players on their return to actual practice.

Unfortunately, Devin was let go from the Saskatchewan Rough Riders last week.

The Riders beat the first place Stampeders on Sunday in a very exciting game.  What made it more interesting is that it was a "Live Mike" game, meaning that they broadcast the quarterback calls in the huddle live on TV.  Was really informative hearing how complex some of the calls were.   Of course there were a few other choice words that ended being caught by the mikes  - game was broadcast with a "Some people may be offended" caution.

Awesome!!  As a life-long Rider fan it would be great to see him on the field.  Incredible fan support up there if he does stay on.

Hardest (and easiest) part about moving to Ann Arbor way back when was learning how to cheer against a team with green/white colors.

Tears in my eyes

Woke up on the west coast with this being one of the lead stories on the San Diego local news.  I grew up in Saskatchewan - as was noted above, during the winter, the Broncos would have been one of the focal points for a rural community like Humboldt.  Every small boy and girl in town would have idolized these young men.  Such a tragedy.  Condolences to the families and the community.

Time to dive in....

Well, this seems to be as good a time as any to transition from long-time lurker to first-time poster.   Thnaks fo rdoing this!
