He gone.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
I don't know, I didn't finish reading yesterday's thread on this subject.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Moses Moody isnt signing early either, so if you're going to fret over Todd, you also have to admit we have shot with Moody still.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
No. He said he can't wait to come to Ann Arbor.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:40 PM ^
Seems to me that he's committed to Michigan but wanted to see how the team did with the new coach. So, I'd say he's a soft-to-medium commit and his LOI is contingent upon the team doing well. Getting Dickinson on board couldn't hurt, either.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:43 PM ^
I thought the risk was whether or not he went to play overseas, no?
November 14th, 2019 at 4:56 PM ^
He could still go overseas even if he signs at NLI to Michigan
November 14th, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Why would you even bother trying to make sense in a PANIC thread?!
You just don't get it victor... smh
November 14th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
Overseas was the biggest risk, but never the only risk.
The way I look at it, there's is very little upside to signing an NLI early, or even at all, for any recruit ranked in Todd's range. True in football too. So I'm reluctant to read much into a decision to wait.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
Look at Rocket Watts with MSU, some recruits just want to wait until the spring. And honestly, he may want to continue to evaluate Michigan with Juwan being a new coach and all. It's easy to have an "our pets heads are falling off" reaction, but I think I recall him saying this previously that despite the commitment, he wanted to wait to see how the team did throughout the season. If he wanted out, he would just decommit.
Also, for those saying that this is proof he will play overseas, he could sign a LOI and still play overseas.

Stick around, somebody will bring the matter up.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
Isn’t the hoops early signing period a full week?
If you’re the type to worry about commits staying commits at least wait until that’s over.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
Sam Webb said on the recruiting roundup today that it's still possible he signs in the early period. He has until November 22nd I believe. He also said that the longer it goes, the less likely he comes to Michigan. If he signs an NLI, he can still decide to go overseas, but can't go to another school. The longer he waits, the more options he has
November 14th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Not to blast Sam, hes great, but honestly "the longer it goes, the less likely he comes to Michigan" might be the most obvious statement ever.
Its similar to saying the shorter we have to wait for him to sign the better chance that he signs.
November 14th, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
If you are inclined to worry there is ALWAYS an excuse to do so. Will the player sign, or get hurt, or become ineligible, or have a nagging injury that holds him back, or encounter a mindless NCAA suspension, or turn into a bust, or leave early for the pros...
Bottom line: that's Coach Howard's job, and he is paid well to handle those headaches. As fans, we can wait and see who actually plays for our team, and cheer for those guys. If you aren't their parents, there's no point to obsessing over decisions teen agers make.

Well fuck, we might as well just shut this blog down while we're at it.

Ok boomer

Oh shit you got em
November 14th, 2019 at 5:32 PM ^
WD - What’s up with the “boomer” slam? It’s just as lame as people calling others “millennials”. As if every person from a particular generation is the same. It’s dismissive and insulting to a whole group of people. SMH.
Signed - a boomer

Pretty sure he’s sarcastically repeating the way that young adult female responded to a State Rep or something like that during some kind of political speech/hearing
November 14th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
Right, but that doesn't really answer the question. One young woman says it, and suddenly it's OK to mock old people? That seems.. distasteful at best.
November 15th, 2019 at 8:19 AM ^
Don't fret it. I'm a Boomer, too, and proud of it. At least we're not self-entitled little jerks like the millennials. (Oh, shit, did I just stereotype them?)
November 14th, 2019 at 6:33 PM ^
Vapid, insufferable people are just that. Regardless of what "generation" they come from.
But I'm not at all surprised to see you make this comment. It's perfect, for you.
November 14th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
Are Gen X'ers allowed to say "Ok Boomer?" I think it's a Millennial and younger thing
November 14th, 2019 at 10:41 PM ^
The same stupid comment, from the same stupid jack-wagon, five times a day.
You are one of those chooches that drives around with Michigan magnets and flags all over your car, aren't you? I can literally feel your lack of self-awareness and desperate need for approval through my phone.

Absolutely.

After reading this blog for years, like 5 times a day, and almost every message board thread, I've come to realize this is not the case for many other mgoblog readers. Pretty sure this topic has been covered in multiple places.

OP, I think you should lose plenty of sleep worrying about this. Lose enough sleep for me too.

He has to sign a document that would prevent him from playing basketball for any other NCAA school. He can sign it now or he can wait and sign it later - the upside is the exact same, assuming Michigan is holding his spot. It's a smart move to wait - doesn't mean anything about his commitment.
