intarwebz rumor on Nick Hill...

Submitted by karpodiem on
post from Rivals. Make of it what you will. "I can't believe I'm posting this but what the hell. I went to my friends daughter's graduation party yesterday (She went to Chelsea High School). According to the kids at the party Nick Hill was walking around school the last day saying "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine" over and over. These kids said Nick was offered by Rich Rodriguez and he accepted. My good friend (We went to Michigan together) watched every Chelsea game last year and he said Nick is a "high school stud but he is SMALL!". He actually thought Nick was more of a MAC caliber player than Michigan. He did say Nick is an excellent student and is a good kid. There....I said it and I feel dirty." so yeah...could be nothing but I figure some people might find it interesting.

I was at the Sugar Bowl game in January '84 when we lost to Bo Jackson's Auburn team. The Tigers/Plainsmen/War Damn Eagles fans were chanting, "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger," over and over to the point where it became permanently etched on my brain. My guess is that we adopted it around then and made it our own. In those days, the band used to chant "Go Michigan. Beat (INSERT OPPONENT'S NAME HERE)" as they marched to the stadium.

I think we take one more RB and it'll be either Clay or White. Well, that is unless like Lattimore or Seastrunk change their minds but thats a one in a million shot.

Mike Hart was small. Also, Austin White I guess wants to go to Michigan as well. Rumours flying around he wants to go to Michigan, but just hasn't committed yet. Yes, we know Michigan is in the running. But, these rumours were "Austin White is going to Michigan"

For the incorrect history on the chant, Tarheel. Sorry - we went through this a while back. Neither started, nor resurrected in 1998. The band (not that I was in the band) has been doing that for a very long time on the walk from Revelle Hall to the stadium every gameday morning. That has never changed. The cheerleaders have used that chant since at least the mid-80's at nearly every pep rally.

Gee, I heard Nick was going to skip college football and go right to the CFL. He said he preferred being stalked by Canucks. Potato Salad.
