What I love about this win, among many other things, is that to a lot of us, it makes the loss to MSU completely irrelevant. They can have it. It means nothing to Michigan now, because they got what mattered infinitely more.

It’s a reminder for them that no matter what happens, no matter what they do, they will never be at the top of the totem pole for Michigan. They are a rival, an important one for sure. But they are not the rival.

My 2c: It's utterly irresponsible, a sign of late stage capitalism and the decline of our society for the highest paid public employee in the state of MI to be a football coach...

...who hasn't finished higher than 3rd in the division!

It’s coming from billionaires. The only way he is possibly going to earn this is if he wins multiple national titles which is exceedingly unlikely. MSU is not located in an area rich with talent and has to compete with Michigan, OSU, and ND for elite talent in a region not as fertile as other areas.

Utterly idiotic from a business sense.

If I were a betting man, I’d say Michigan is more likely to finish the division in the Top2 again next year than MSU is to finishing greater than 4th. Aside from when we play them (when talent doesn’t matter), the transfer portal won’t be enough to sustain finishing near the top of the division, IMO.
