Has Harbaugh given any post game on the field interviews?
I don't recall seeing him talking to any reporters on the field immediately after the game. Yesterday the announcers said that Holly Rowe was with Harbaugh for comments after the game, but then they said "guess not" and cut to her interview with Speight.

when you're doing your job and you present your work product to someone, if the very first reaction they have is to say to themselves, "well that guy is not attractive."

at the Orange Bowl with Stanford and was asked about the Michigan job.

Brandstatter got the same treatment last night and Brandstatter gave him shit for it. It was funny. Before Harbaugh got out of there Brandstatter did get a couple comments about Speight out of him.

If you listen closely at 27:18 , Nessler says "Holly's with the winning coach" and then you can hear Harbaugh yell "right here!" and then they cut to Wilton being interviewed two seconds later.
I'm guessing they tried asking him but Harbaugh told them to talk to Wilton.

But, but, but... But all the media outlets say he is just looking for attention and publicity. How do they account for this? I guess they never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Remember that he made the media talk to Tavika Pritchard after the Stanford upset of USC. He wants his players to get the focus, not him.

Motivates the players, coaches subordinates; makes them feel good and more invested; and significantly builds loyalty.

it's a complete waste of everybody's time. The questions are always inane, obvious, or just fucking stupid, and the comments from coaches are never interesting, enlightening, or informative as a result. If I were Harbaugh, I wouldn't bother with them either.
November 1st, 2015 at 6:19 PM ^
He wouldn't talk to Brandstatter in the locker room after the game. He said something like "I know im suppose to talk to you guys, but it's not about me. Let me get you Speight." Harbaugh grabbed Wilton and brought him over to Brandstatter.
The dude hates talking to the media.
As long as Jim wins Hackett won't do a thing about it.

Maybe they weren't IN the locker room but Jim definitely was interviewed by Bandstatter after the game. Just look at the earlier thread about Inside Michigan Football #10. It's there.
November 1st, 2015 at 6:54 PM ^
Yeah the "locker room" interview was right after the game for the radio post game show. I believe the "inside Michigan football" interview is done at a later time.
Jim may be contractually obligated to give a interview for Inside Michigan Football.

He certainly doesn't look like he enjoys interviews.

He did talk to Brandstatter on the field after the Maryland game.
November 1st, 2015 at 9:56 PM ^
A chance to talk on the mic and be the star isn't worth as much to him as it is would be to his players, especially a player like Speight, who might not get that opportunity at other times. You can bet that meant a lot to Speight. It's also good experience for his players.
It's smart coaching, good leadership.

Some of these players are going pro... better to get these media skills under thier belt sooner vs. later and even if not going pro... it a valuable lesson/opportunity for these players. Plus this is MICHIGAN the leader and best of student athlete

How many of us thought the game was over when we saw him put in? And after going 0 for whatever, to get rid of the jitters and make those incredible, confident throws to win the game? He answered the questions we all had. "How did you do it?"
We saw the coaches on the sideline encouraging him, treating him with respect, and he could tell us how that helped him. "They prepare all the QBs like we're starters, and they told me to go out and have fun."

He played and coached in NFL, the hollywood media spotlight of sports. He is probably fed up with silly questions. I don't blame him. His players are well-educated men who can represent the post game interviews on the field.

Coach Harbaugh is not in the position of looking for the next job, he has his dream job now. So he does not need the media exposure like Brian Kelly needed when he was at CMU. Now he is training the media to ask good fb questions. That teaches the media not to ask loaded questions the devise the team. Awesome!
