Harbaugh's Headset

Submitted by M Gulo Gulo on

First let me preface this by saying I love the fact we have a coach who wears a headset.

Hail Harbaugh!

However I find it interesting that the Ram automotive company has their logo pasted all over it. Does anyone know if this is due to fallout and leftover idiocracy from DB?

I understand advertising on the headsets is (unfortunatly) unavoidable but it is usually the name of the company providing the headset (AT&T, Verizon, Bose) not an automotive company. I am very happy the Athletic Dept and fans have kept most of the advertising out of Michigan Stadium (dispite DB's best efforts) so I find it suprising that a his headset (dispite being an amazing marketing medium) has advertising on it. Or maybe I am inept and Ram does make headsets.

Headsets double as protective devices against concussion when coaches headbutt idiotic officials. You know, like when rams headbutt each other. Hence the connection with Ram.

I have an old Jensen brand headset - probably 30 years old - that I wear while mowing the lawn sometimes. I will say this, it was pretty easy to get lost in the music when I had a stereo which actually had the appropriate outlets for those phones, and all these years later, they are almost as good as noise-cancelling headphones while doing yardwork.

I could think of far worse logos to put on a Michigan headset. Not like Chrysler has any history in the area or anything.. If Brandoosh was still here Michigan might have Chobani on the sides.

that would be a great twitter account name in the tradition of faux pellini - random witty comments on the antics, thoughts, actions, etc. of Harbaugh from the perspective of his head set.

Some one funnier than me should totally do that

Who gives a shit. Seriously...what century do posters live in where they don't realize that branding is a way of life, especially when we have a stadium that relatively lacks it.

superiority!?! Don't be pretentious. It is tradition that we generally lack advertising, but we need some degree to continue to fund our program at a level that allows us to have the best facilities needed to compete with the OSUs of the world
