Gate 10 closed just for students - cluster bleep at other gates

Submitted by bokee88 on
Gate 10 is closed to general public. Now for students only. That means the students enter gate 10 then walk way right to get to their seats. The rest of us now enter gate 9 and have to cross paths with them and go way left. The lines are huge at gate 9. This is totally moronic a d the workers admit it. As usual I'll blame DB. He really gets it.

It's a college football game. The students go to that college. I like the move by Brandon to make it easier for the most enthusiastic fans to get to their seats.

It's the gate directly on the way from campus (where the students go to school and live).  Some of you complain that the students don't get there on time, DB does three things in the offseason to make it so (loyalty points, GA, and Gate 10), we have the best student attendance in a shitbag game, and you still complain.....

Can we just end the thread with this comment? I wish I could upvote it, as it is spot on.

To the creator of this thread, maybe just enjoy the game rather than getting all uppity over every minor inconvenience.

My 27 week MGoPregnant wife and a 70+ Grandma almost had to attempt a very slippery hill to get to the East Gate because of this. UNACCEPTABLE. Dave Brandon is a macaroni whore!

We talked to the gate attendants and they said it was a mess. Just fix it and move on. I'm sure the students were not there in force because of gate 10. They r there because its GA for them and it was 3:30 Expecting it to be right should be a Michigan expectation fergodsakes.

They made huge changes to stadium logistics, affecting 100,000+ people, to fix what they perceived as a student attendance problem.... And it worked. Do you appreciate that at all? or does your intolerance for temporary inconvenience totally cloud your ability to appreciate the bigger picture?

Is not your only option.

I'm not going to say its "moronic" either considering gate 10 is the closest to where the students live and have always entered the stadium.

As a ticket taker at gate 9, I can tell you the problems today were less about what gate the students entered and more about the new scanners we are using not connecting to the network and inhibiting our ability to efficiently scan tickets.

The line during today's rush was no longer than normal, it just didn't contain any students.

I think a lot of the frustration that the fans felt was because something changed.

If crossing paths with the students is a problem for you, try gate 1, or gate 2 or gate 4. If waiting in line is an issue enter the stadium earlier. There is no line until about 20 min before kickoff.

I'm sure there are improvements that could or should be made to make entering the stadium easier, but at the same time if 100,000  people are trying to enter the stadium at about the same time there will be lines.

Be patient. We are doing our best.

That women and her child did need to go there, in order to be assigned a section, but it's stupid that they actually won't/can't scan student tickets at other gates. We took our lap-sized child, and I used my student ticket to get in. But the way it's set up now, I had to go in gate 8, send his mother with him to use their non-student tickets to get in another gate, and then find them inside to sit together in the non-student seats. That's doubling up on the stupidity of requiring a baby to have a ticket.
