Game Predictions
I couldn't find this posted anywhere. I'm just wondering what everyone's predictions are for this weekend?
My prediction:
UM - 42
WMU - 21
WMU returns 3 starters from a team that was 102nd last year in total defense and I think we'll be much improved offensively. We'll give up a couple big plays, but overall I think we dominate this game.

I am thinking the team is motivated and out to prove something. Why not hang half a hundy on the soon to be MAC champ.

But UM controls the game and clock with Minor Rage and ball control. 2-3 long drives for scores.

West Virginia frequently won the time of possession 'battle' by holding the ball up to 40 minutes a game (no joke - check the stats).
I think the coaches will want to control the ball on the ground in order to take pressure off the defense. I don't see Western stopping the running and short passing games that much. But, this game will play into the fourth quarter, Michigan will go up 17, and Western will score late.

a win either way. so i predict that michigan will win. predicting a score doesn't work for me. i just want them to win so we can get back on track as a football program and as fans and put this shit storm behind us. other than that my nerves are kicking already, i want saturday to get here in a bad way.

I think we'll blitz Hiller all day and he won't be able to have time to throw. However, if we can't put pressure on him, things can change. I am excited about our defense, for some reason. I think we'll be flying around.
Offensively, I think we'll struggle in the first 2-3 drives but turn it on after. I smell a long screen TD from Tate to Grady.

in the Christmas story Ralphy goes off on that bully after continually getting messed with? He finally blows a gasket and beats that redheads ass...well, unfortunately for Western Michigan...they are the redheads this Saturday. Whether they mean to or not, they are in the wrong place at the wrong time...for them. No more 3-9. No more sorry ass offense. No more drama. Time to start kicking some ass.

Feeling optimistic this morning so 34-17 is my guess. I think the likelyhood of
it being closer than that is greater than the possibility of a complete blowout. With it
being the first game it will probably be a little sloppy. And western will come in thinking they can beat us so it may take a little longer than usual to crush their confidence. Of course I would love to be wrong and beat them by 50.

I was much more worried about this game until I saw a commenter bring up the MAC's bowl record last year. They lost every single game they played in (and ruined my bowl pool in the process). I think maybe we get too much exposure to them being in the midwest and over inflate their value. Anyway, this is a game Michigan can't afford to lose and / or be unfocused in and after this latest fiasco, they will be on point for this one.

Michigan stops Western on their first drive, then marches down the field and scores with a nice mixture of Minor/Brown and accurate passing. Another WMU stop brings about another Michigan scoring drive (FG). Michigan leads the entire way, the closest Western makes it is 17-7.

Best way to vent anger and protect a freashmen QB is to ram the ball down their throats via Minor, Brown, and Shaw. Sprinkle in some goal line Grady. Keeps Heller off the field and our defense protected and rested.

I am watching this game with my sister's tool of a fiance who is a "proud" Wastern alum and will talk so much trash throughout the whole game. I can't stand the thought of being around him during family functions if WMU somehow pulls out the win. So, since I have been eating my vitamins and saying my prayers, I will say:
