favorite moments of the Hoke Era

Submitted by Toby Flenderson on

The Brady Hoke Era has come to an end at the University of Michigan. It is a shame that a man with such great character like Brady Hoke couldn't succeed here. However, I always like to remember the good times.

My question to my fellow mgobloggers

What were your favorite memories of the Hoke Era?

Mine is a tie between the 2011 Ohio State Game and the 2012 Northwestern game.

It was fools gold, but that was the peak. Think, just last Septamber, here's where we stood:

- Followed sugar bowl season with mediocre 8 win season,  but losses were to 3 undefeated teams, and finished a last second loss to top 10 SEC team.

- Open season with domination of MAC team, like we're supposed to do.

- Easily handled a solid ND team in our own place in game 2.

At this point, how could you not think the ship was on the right path?? From that point on, it was all downhill fast and hard.

1) Beating OSU 2) UTL I ("Wide open is Gallon! They left him alone!") 3) UTL II 4) Beating MSU 5) The Sugar Bowl 6) Gardner going beast mode in The Game last year (this would be at the top of the list if we had won)

Beating OSU was gratifying because it's Oiho St, but UTL1 was probably the most memorable.  The noise in the 4th quarter rivaled on Braylonfest & Woodson's punt return in 97.

My best memories for sure are, UTL 1 AND 2, OSU 2011 and beating MSU 2012. Only one good memory from 2013 that season was garbage, and 2014 well, don't have much to say. I believe 2011 was full of good memories, it was just nice winning again. After that season, besides only a couple games, I constantly felt let down.

A lot of good ones from 2011, but it has to be the UTL game for me.  For three quarters I was thinking, "Well, we're not going to win this one, but it's still cool to be part of this experience."  Then the amazing fourth quarter happened and it turned into an all-time classic.  At the end, no one wanted to leave.  Everyone wanted to soak it in as much as possible.
