Meh.
Meh to your meh
Welcome back Devin!
May he catch many a Golden Snitch for the Lions.
Back to what I always felt was his natural position, TE.
Could revive his career. A matchup nightmare at TE.
I have always agreed with this and I hope he can block "enough" to stick with the Lions.
Still waiting on my Hutchinson jersey to come in :)
Haha. Me too. I bought one for my son like two days after he was drafted.
I have no doubt Devin can block. The question would be is he willing?
Getting paid can be a serious motivator.
The Lions is not the franchise to play for if your career needs reviving.
I appreciate your sentiment though
What?!? Are you forgetting about players.like Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, Damon Harrison, Danny Amendola and Jared Goff? And those are just the RECENT examples....
...that prove your point.
Good luck to him.
Camp body, nothing more.
Next best option is a rookie coming off an ACL. Hock is banged up a lot. He could definitely stick.
He was signed as a tight end not WR. Also DJ chark and anon st brown
I'm referencing Mitchell.
I got it Lomas and agree. on the surface its a need and Devin will have a big opportunity to get substantial PT.
He should be a perfect fit for the Lie-downs' organization as after all wins and losses are just statistics.
Was waiting for this comment.
seems like the lions have gotta have like 14 tight ends on the roster with as many moves they have made
Hopefully he can see the field; still a pretty young guy and if he's set to be a TE (that's what I gathered from the signing article I read) he could maybe see some time as a flex.
I like it. Who do the Lions have besides Hockenson? Seems like a smart deal for both sides.
They just drafted James Mitchell in the 4th round from VA Tech, but he’s out with an ACL injury for a while still. Beyond that they only have just-a-guys Zylstra and Wright.
QB or WR, or both?
Ouch,
Sorry Dev, not sure what you did in this life or past to deserve this cruel fate but musta been somethin fucked up.
I'm rewatching all of the Michigan seasons since my fandom started back in 2007 and I just completed 2014. I'm a nostalgia junkie, which is the only reason I'm doing this (those first 8 years ain't easy to watch). I remember being so excited for the 2014 season with Jabril Peppers coming to town and Devin switching to WR, changing his jersey to #1...
Devin flashed at moments, but he seemed checked out after the 2nd game. What a tough season to watch. I'm still a Funchess fan and I'll be rooting for him. TE might be the best position for him if he can be a serviceable blocker. We'll see!
I had no idea Funch was still in the league, tbh.
