This Bielema Quote Strikes Me As Arrogant

But get a load of this: After the game Saturday, Bielema said his offensive line -- which grinds opposing defenses into dust by pulling its guards and ramming them into linebackers downfield -- was prevented from pulling by Michigan. He used the word "tactics," which is coaching code for "holding," to describe what Michigan's defensive line was doing.

 

"But we rectified the situation," Bielema said.

 

When asked how, Bielema recalled a chop-block penalty that went against his team -- and took a touchdown off the scoreboard -- in the second quarter. Wisconsin lost seven points but delivered a message.

 

The "tactics" by Michigan stopped.

Rising with a bullet passing Danny Hope on the Big Ten Douchbag Coach Countdown!

I cannot wait until we ROLL HIS FAT ASS.

Without exception I have rooted for ALL Big Ten teams (OSU included) in their respective Bowl games.  I have always figured that when the Big Ten shows well it reflects well on my school, regardless of our actual presence in the game.

Well that's over.  I SO SO SO hope that Wisconsin gets to the Rose Bowl and plays either Oregon or Boise State (If Oregon is in National Championship game I think the non-BCS conference team replaces them) and get absolutely rolled.

I want to see the look on the fat fuck's face as his team gets smoked.  He has the face of a dull high school bully who enjoys hurting animals IMO.........

So Coach A-hole tells his line to illegaly chop someone to send a message?  How many seasons and careers have been ended by an illegal chop block?  What a classless piece of shit.  The next time we play them I hope we send a message by running an out right at the jackass and take him out, or maybe on a kickoff return.  I hope coach A-hole enjoys his losing season next year.  Go choke on a piece of cheese coach be-a-dick.

Barry Alvarez gave Beilema the keys to a fine-tuned, well-oiled machine.  Alvarez left when he did in order to help solidify the programs status in the future. Basically, when Alvarez left, he made damn sure there was no way Brett "Curly" Beilema could screw up what he had built.

This is the opposite from the Lloyd Carr scenario in which you have a coach leaving as his crop of star players departs for the NFL.  So the two situations are opposite in that  Rich Rod, a coach who had been previously successful, has about as much talent in the cupboard as a good high school team; while Beilema, a nobody, has an upperclass-heavy team that is truly still the brainchild of Barry Alvarez.

But they recruit well for their system and it works when the players are experienced. 

They also know how to get running backs and incorporate them into the system.  

And obviously, they recruit defense pretty well. 

I wish we had the opportunity to be that arrogant again.  Those were the days. 

This comment comes from a 'coach' who had to refer to a chart when making a decision regarding an extra point when his team was up by 25. The same guy who told his captain to take 'That way' (finger pointing for emphasis) during a coin flip-true story

What a great way to "send a message." Imagine how that message would be perceived if the player that Wisconsin chop blocked ended up getting injured ala Michigan State. Beating Wisconsin in the future is going to be oh so sweet.

Yes, he's an asshat, but why do people care about what opposing coaches say so much?  The only way to shut people like this up is to beat them.

Lewan had a nasty chop block last week and had one a couple weeks before that, and both were completely uncalled for.....don't act like Beilema called that specificaly....lineman pull that crap when the guy infront of them got the best of them a few plays....

 

Beilema, most coaches are complete aholes, what cause ferentz, tressel are good infront of a camera you think they aren't?  Rich, you better believe he is....Bo, we call him tough as nails as our coach and you think 9 other schools thought he was a saint...Coaches are aholes to other teams.

So when Dantonio, Hope, Beilema or indiana's coach (yeah nobody knows who he is or will take the time cause he won't be there long enough) act like douche bags, its because they are.  They just happen to be the ones that don't know how to act infront of a camera....

The comments on this board about Bielema are in worse taste than anything he said, regardless of the proposed interpretations of what he actually said.  Perhaps all of you are just venting, but it is juvenile (at best) and as one previous poster noted the hallmark of losers.  There are a lot of chop blocks called these days, and it seems to me as if we have had an awful lot of them called against us, and especially against Lewan.  So, making all of these libelous accusations against Bielema is disgusting on many levels.  If we play better, we do better and he can say less.

Guy is coaching a 10-1 football team.  Seems to me he has a right to have confidence in what he's doing.

 

Now, is he an asshole?  Absolutely.  "It was on the card" my ass.

I only prefer to talk about coaches that coach for Michigan.

I will add, however...how'd that arrogance work out for Danny Hope?

Bielema is classless, and eventually it will come up to bite him on the ass.  I am guessing that this kind of behavior from him will become chronic.  This will cause Wiscy to be one of those teams that everyone hates, and everyone plays their hardest against. He is making his job a lot harder with these kind of quotes.  For all we know, he could have a terrible year next year and say something so stupid it gets him fired.

It's too bad Michigan doesn't get him until he has an expernenced team again, but Michigan will be a lot better by then, too.  If Bielema is still around, I'm sure the chop blocks will be a subject in the locker room during game week. 

I think we are spoiled as Michigan fans, because Michigan coaches don't act like that after victories.  They use coachspeak such as "Team X is a very good team and they played hard, and we're happy to get a victory today."  It might not create the excitement that comes with drama and controversy, but it is the right way to do things.

Besides, Michigan has a lot more important things to think about and talk about this week than the classless coach of someone they have already played.

I was taken aback by a lot of Bielema's comments after the game yesterday.  I thought most of his comments were arrogant.  If he doesn't want talented, humble kids playing for his team that is fine.  But the shots seem unnecessary.  I think he is still bitter from 2008.  His interview yesterday was pretty classless in my opinion. 

The winners get to say whatever they want.  He had 17 4th and 5th year guys that play a significant amount of football for the Badgers.  It's tough to puff out your chest and comment about having like 4-5x the amount of veteran players on your roster so you use other ways to describe how much more manlier you are than your opponent.  Let him say whatever he wants to say, I'm sure a large part of it was bitterness due to losing to that 2008 squad.  

If we get the defense fixed we'll have the best offense in the Big Ten and one of the best in the country and a solid defense for the next 2-3 seasons.  Then we can laugh at the beer bellies on the Wisconsin players when we start beating them again.

When we could be Arrogant.

Did anyone see that chop block on by Wisconsin against  Adrian Clayborn?? One of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen. I wonder if Bielema ordered that too.

Something's not right when Michigan fans accuse another school of being arrogant.  Come on, that's our label.
