11/22/2014 - 9:29pm So What do Indiana and Michigan have in Common?

Only two Big 10 teams to both loose to Big 10 new comers Maryland and Rutgers. This board laughed and snided about them getting into the Big 10. Remember this when the team is good again, and stay humble.

11/08/2014 - 10:21am Sugar Bowl

Spartan Tears Taste Like Sugar

11/28/2011 - 8:28pm Bowl Payout

All bowl money is shared equally among big ten teams.

11/11/2011 - 2:02pm Actually, it was Mark Hollis'

Actually, it was Mark Hollis' idea, and MSU reached out to UNC. Original idea was two games in 2006 against service academies, but war prevented that. Hollis knows what he is doing - he came up with the idea of outdoor hockey that everyone is copying. Also, the event is planned to be continued, and MSU will be playing in 2013.

Game is definitley bringing tons of publicity. MSU and NC all over the news, ESPN, and national coverage.

12/13/2010 - 8:10pm Don't know why I bother, but post #1

Never once "pretended to be a Michigan fan".

12/12/2010 - 1:54pm No one on this board realizes

The billboard in 2008 was a response to Mike "the mouth" Hart. The BCS representatives are correct. Just throwing out the head to head, the one actual consistency in the schedules was all three played at Iowa. Two won, one lost. The idea that MSU beat Wiscy who beat OSU does not fly. This does not take into account home field.

Oh ya, the other consistency is they all beat the snot out of UM.

Happy Holidays

12/05/2010 - 7:50pm I read Tim's post every single week.

I found it doing a search on recruting - and thus this board.

I find it a fine collection of information on the recruiting landscape in our conference. Just thought it was very amusing "why did Sparty pass us, wha. Dee Hart, wha..."

I have also read many other posts on the board, and respect Magnus' contribution more than most. As a group you do amuse me though. So many people demanding Brandon come out with a decision all because the MSM all are speculating on RR's job security. Do you really want your AD to answer to the same MSM that you love to trash (and rightfully so).

For Magnus:

I won't be popping in to check on your winningest football team on January 1. I wish your team the best running and passing against the SEC. I will be skipping that game for a game you should be adding to your agenda.

12/05/2010 - 6:12pm LOL - One guys Epinion

And you start to whine because MSU passed UM. Not a word abour Wisconsin passing. Pitty - so focussed on MSU.

12/05/2010 - 6:01pm Michigan and Mississippi State

As announcerd

12/05/2010 - 4:58pm You an MSU

You said they would get rocked by PSU

You could not understand prior to the season why they were getting sighted as a B10 dark horse.

Strike 3?

11/30/2010 - 9:19pm You Sir

Have Sparty Envy.

11/27/2010 - 8:25pm Youth

Seems to be a re-occuring theme lately.

11/27/2010 - 8:15pm obsessing

with Dantonio

11/21/2010 - 9:40am So now what a reporter interprets is FACT???

I know I'm wasting my breath, but notice there are no quotes in the article above. It was the reporter's interpretation of what was said.

We all know reporters always get it right - right?

11/04/2010 - 9:31pm My problems

Are nothing compared to this! Thanks for the pick me up.

11/04/2010 - 8:58pm Wow

Can I have some of that happy juice your taking?

10/27/2010 - 11:37pm 26-6 against Illinois

Do you really think MSU was favored by 20 or more?

10/24/2010 - 8:43pm Four combos here after this weekend

Both lose - who cares

MSU lose, Mizzou win - yes

MSU win, Mizzou lose - no

Both win - not likely

09/03/2010 - 9:33am My advice to you sir

is to stop drinking so much on Thursday nights. It's distorting your perception.

09/02/2010 - 3:07pm Hmmm

Are you seriously worried about what MSU might do in their bowl? Obsessing?

09/02/2010 - 2:49pm Or Toledo

Oh wait. People in glass houses....

09/01/2010 - 3:18pm The goal is not to avoid a rematch

but a rematch in back to back weeks. If you only ply divisional  opponents in the last two weeks, there is no chance for a rematch in the last two weeks. Thus the need to avoid cross divisional games in the last week, as the other major conferences do.

09/01/2010 - 3:04pm And division record

is the second criteria? Give OSU their only loss, who beat PSU. Guess what, they still go to the BTCG.

09/01/2010 - 2:59pm Since the two teams are in differnt divisions

Most likely a cross over loss would be less significant in the standings. So if M beats OSU for their only loss, OSU would still make the BTCG (and vice versa). That team wins the BTCG, goes to the BCS title game with one loss (ala Oklahoma), and wins the national title. The Game is meaningless.

In the now "old days" you could not lose the last game of the year in the Big Ten amd make it to the naional title.

08/31/2010 - 10:21pm It will create a nice rivalry

But the team that becomes the consistent winner will beome the longer term rival of the team that becomes the consistent winner in the other division.  Auburn/Alabama is a nice rival, but nationally people are starting to talk about Bama/Florida. Could be really good for M/OSU if they both get to their historical performance at the same time

07/13/2010 - 3:57pm When exactly did the Spartans rush the field

And never do they rush the BBall court like the scene after the UConn win.

07/11/2010 - 10:44am Your believe the players did not care about the Rose Bowl

which was played a full seven weeks later? I'll take that bet.

07/05/2010 - 4:27pm First Flying car was just FCC approved

Maybe not as sexy as Doc Brown's, but you gotta start somewhere

http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/flight-international/2010/06/flying-car-a-reality.html

07/02/2010 - 9:21am Does anyone ever acknoledge that MSU should have had another TO

With 36 seconds to go State misses a first down and immediately calls TO. A flag is tossed for 12 men on the field, which there were, and the refs never give State the TO back that could have been used prior to the last play. Lots of errors by the refs.

Additionally:

"Three years following the game, Dave Parry, the conference's coordinator of football officials, said, "that play, as much as we've put that under a high-powered microscope, was correct. We could not prove that timer wrong."

Let it go.

06/28/2010 - 7:58pm Not only the best deli in NY

But probably the best in the country.

06/28/2010 - 7:55pm A topic I love almost as much as CFB - Food

New York - Picholine

Islamorada Florida Keys - Marker 88

Guadalajara - Cocina 88

Chicago - Gene and Georgetti

06/28/2010 - 10:27am I see your logic

and agree with it. Thanks for the clarification.

06/28/2010 - 8:44am Definietly Fuzzy Logic

If early on one team has two 5* players and another has 2 4* players, the first class is obviously better. Now add a 1* to the first class, and the star average is now less than 4 for the entire class. Therefore we have subtraction by addition.

06/25/2010 - 5:25pm The Line Moves as more bets are placed on a team

Therefore, the final line is a good measure of what people who do bet often feel the true differential is. I believe someone posted earlier this opened at 13.5 and has already moved. If a casino misses a line badly, there are professionals who will move in on it quickly. Get your money on M now, because I can not imagine it going higher, but can definitely see it going lower.

06/21/2010 - 10:57pm From Steve Jobs

"You've got to find what you love, and that is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking, and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it, and like any great relationship it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking. Don't settle"

06/21/2010 - 10:35pm Think Before You Act

06/20/2010 - 6:22pm Greg Norman 1996 Masters

While Faldo did shoot very well, Norman blew up.

06/16/2010 - 8:48pm Source?

Any direct feedback from a recruit?

06/16/2010 - 11:11am Are you serious comparing him to Fisher based on championships?

If you actually "think like this", then I ask you, can someone with the same number of National Championships as John Cooper be considered a great football coach? That's what I thought. Put some thought into what you say before saying it, it will serve you well.

06/15/2010 - 9:31pm Henning's Intelligence has shown through brightly

First the UM is now MSU article / recant, and then the Izzo can't go back article.

06/15/2010 - 7:52pm This post smells like Texas

Same division guarantees M / tOSU as the last regular seson game of the year. Guaranteeing a cross division game smells like a "we are more important" thought. Don't go there.

06/15/2010 - 7:23pm The writers perspective seems to be recent history

Every single team listed in these rivalries has won a championship within the last ten years. Take out the Ravens and its more like 5 years.

06/14/2010 - 9:20pm Texas will put their muscle in to insure no strong FB teams join

That will allow them to play a defacto championship against OU each year and guarantee they are potentially in the MNC game each year.

06/13/2010 - 11:37am In retrospect

Maybe the post should be changed to be a "rival" or "oposing competitor". Sounds like Kirk is a class act and should be spoken of in such a way.

06/11/2010 - 2:43pm When the BCS has to go to a playoff it helps immensly

Whoever makes it out of the conference will be ready to smack anyone in the mouth.

06/11/2010 - 12:54pm Did not expect to see Central Michigan at 99!

Okay, so maybe it is that school in Pennsylvania.

06/11/2010 - 12:45pm After further review of USC courses

None are eligible to transfer to M because the classes are High School equivalent.

06/11/2010 - 12:34pm It is, but it would be his last $30M

The experiment fails, he is gone, and then what. He can stay at MSU and coach twice as long and earn the $30M without the risk of falling flat on his face. There is no way Izzo's style of coaching works in the NBA. He is not calm on the sideline, and never will be. He is simply a great college coach.

06/10/2010 - 4:38pm If Saban gets the Cleveland job

I'll eat my sorts. I honestly think Izzo is the front runner.

06/10/2010 - 12:41am Totally disagree with your analysis

If Izzo stays, it will be clear to all his plaers and future players that he is staying for the duration. He is now in his 50's, it is now or never, and the money most likely won't get more attractive.

As far as the scandal goes, get real, he won his one national championship with a senior laden team in 2000. IIRC, Cleeves was being recruited by M, and his recruitment eventually became a big part of the scandal.
