what on earth is AXS TV and why is a major tournament on it?
has anyone ever watched a game on it?

But every top 50 team is playing in tournaments this time of year so that's going to end up being a lot of tournaments. Atlantis seems to be 'meh'

There are 3 ranked teams in it and there's been at least one top-10 team in it in every single one since its inception so....
In fact, this is the first year there isn't a top-5 team in it.

thankfully its not the maui invitational - meaning theres zero chance of bill walton destroying the games broadcast as the color guy.
walton was clearly a good player and hes prob a nice fellow who knows his basketball - but like some other ex-players with big personalities in the color game, its just painful to listen to that dude

Yes. Maui is king however there are other solid tourneys.

If I'm a college BB player and if I already went to the Maui tournament, I would LOVE to go to this one as this is in the Bahamas (80's and sunny!) and in the Atlantis resort which is just an over the top amazing resort.
Half the games for this torunament are on AXS and the other half are on ESPN/2:

this is the richest payout pre-season tourney.
But no, games played in a hotel grand ballroom, no matter which teams they are, just don't have the allure of "major."

I've seen some games on it. It's a pretty obscure channel that shows concerts most of the time so it's pretty odd it also does sports.
They exclusively own the rights to the CBI Tournament.
Michigan actually played on AXS TV back when it was called HDNET in the 2010 Legends Classic at Boardwalk Hall.

Mark Cuban owns it. It's on Verizon FIOS here in NYC, I think it has pretty good coverage.

It was pitched to him on Shark Tank. He liked the use of the letter "X" as it makes everything on the channel seem that much more super rad.

I have not watched a game on AXS. However,I just subscribe to it. There is a real possibility that all of Michigans Atlantis games could end up on this station. This all depends on how the brackets play out.I could stand to maybe miss one regular season game.I will not miss three.
