Seth—your final comment right before the end of the segment was very interesting. You understandably paid homage to the U-M medical people, and then you pointed out that U-M's donor class prioritizes giving to entities like the various U-M hospitals and medical institutions, as opposed to prioritizing giving to athletic departments and other athletic endeavors.

This is one reason why I've always been skeptical about the alleged power and reach of Michigan's "money cannon"—Michigan's most influential big money donors aren't like the big money donors at many other schools with elite-level athletic departments.

Michigan Arrogance

This was a point I've heard ppl make in the past, but this was the most succint and powerful way to put it.

I'm now quite convinced that Michigan people, when push comes to shove, will opt to give hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of dollars to football players when there is a new dorm going in, s'ships to fund, buildings to rename, etc. The pool of money is not infinite, even for Steven Ross.

I'd also imagine Michigan is due for another large, U-wide funding campaign like the one under Pres. Coleman that collected a few billion about 15-20 years ago. That will be tough to compete against.

We ain't getting Underwood. Don't even bother getting your hopes up for that one. He's going to LSU and he probably should given the money they're going to hand him.  Brian Kelly will be gyrating his hips all over him on a backlight stage with strobe lights while the camera rotates slowly and they gesture things with their hands while some song that no one over the age of 35 has ever listened to plays.  Sure, I'll throw up a little in my mouth, but it's virtually a guarantee.  I'd rather have a nice children's hospital than Mich sell it's soul to become a sleazy cringefest designed to appeal to the worst aspects of immature highschool kids.  Could they achieve equivalent pay for play NIL success in a mature way that doesn't require eye bleach and heavy drugs to negate the cringe? Yes.  Do the UofM powers that be love the odor of their Michigan Man flatulence so much that they shoved their own heads so far up their ass that they can't do anything. Also, yes.

Ryan Montgomery looks like a 4* gamer. I hope we have learned our lesson about putting all our chips in one basket. We are one of his final five.

The is a big strong athletic high school kid that has dual threat skills.

QB is a unique position of leadership. I understand high school kids deserve to take a good look at where they want to spend the college years but I also think at QB especially you need to make it about the program you want to join and lead.

MeanJoe, that might be the best and most thoughtful response I've ever read on this blog.  The fact that it comes from you, a man who once wrote: "Ah piss"  "My wife said size doesn't matter"  "A big strong D always lead to a satisfying O" and "I'd put them up my butt one by one and then fire them at RGard's face." is delightful.

A true philanthropist.

Meh. I’m sure there’s a disgruntled 5 star on someone else’s roster as I type this who’s already pouting about playing time,  Your OSUs and Georgias of the world who stockpile QBs only have so many opportunities to get on the field, (Joe Burrow). We’ll be fine. Plus if JJ does what we all think this year and ends up drafted in round 1 our window opens up. I mean shit, if Penix can go from serviceable to the greatest QB college ball has ever seen we should be able to find ours.
