Annual Football Summer Trip
I like this! The Big Apple, the nations Capital, Gettysburg, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (I assume), is a nice diverse trip. A little fun (NYC), a little seriousness and history (D.C., battlefield), some football, and a pretty cool museum (Rock Hall). This is a good college experience, expanding cultural and intellectual knowledge. When the NFL Draft was always in NYC, I'd love to see how amazed some of the prospects were the first time they experienced The Greatest City In The World!

Go Blue!
I do like this - it's definitely going to be focused on history knowing Harbaugh, and these are great spots to go to learn the history and present of this country. That said i do hope they get to go international again next year
Gettysburg is of great (US) historical significance - as is Philly. I hope the team has a fantastic trip.
Glad to also see that they are going to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. Shows it wasn’t just lip service they gave after the situation with Donovan Edwards.
I haven't been there since the mid-90's, but it was - and still is - the best museum I have ever walked through. The impact it made went directly to your heart, and it started the moment you got on the freight car sized elevator they packed you into. You were given a card with the story of a camp or ghetto survivor to read on the way up. When the doors opened, you stepped onto a loading dock mock-up with murals of what it looked like unloading at one of the concentration camps. By the time you got back to the lobby you were filled with sorrow; hatred and disgust at what happened and for those that did it; pity and empathy for those that were forced to endure it; and contempt for the situations and circumstances that allowed it. And respect for those victims that made it through and came out the other end and were still good people.
As a young army officer 13 years ago, one graduating requirement was memorizing the mistakes of day 2 and 3 of G-burg. Those mistakes and communication errors can easily be translated to a sports environment. Not comparing the two, but some errors are relatable. God bless the 1st Minnesota and Cpt. Chamberlain.
I believe it was Maine.
20th Maine. Joshua Chamberlain is a fascinating story of leadership.
I am speaking independently of the each. Look up the first Minnesota. I know Chamberlin served from Maine.

Standing on Little Round Top and imagining how savage and consequential was the battle there, I definitely had chills.
I think these trips (Rome, France, South Africa, Michigan) are really cool and a great way to keep at least some emphasis on the "student" part of "student-athlete" while creating a great bonding opportunity and helping some guys experience places they've never seen before. I hope they keep them up.
When T.C. Williams High School visited Gettysburg, they went on to win the Virginia State Championship! Hopefully we can repeat that on a bigger stage!
Cool trip.
D''ya think they need a trip assistant?
I also like this part of the fabric of the Michigan football program a lot. Growth, development, camaraderie are part of the reason a lot of our players stay for most or all of their eligibility and graduate.
You can’t be the greatest city in the world when you have second rate pizza.
commence fighting’!!

My preference is Neapolitan Pizza. But, I never turn down an opportunity to get a pie at Lou Malnati's! Uno's is great, as well.
The cheap New York style, though? Yeah, I'll pass, too!
getttt da fuck outtttta here

I posit that if folks can discuss a hot dog's sandwichness, then NY Pizza is a taco.
Sounds like a great trip
I took my kids and wife to DC last spring with Gettysburg on the way, and Boston/NY last summer. We did Cleveland a few years earlier and hit the Rock and Roll HOF. Great trips. College kids will have a blast.
