4th Michigan Hockey vs 14th Boston University tonight at Yost @ 7. B1G vs Hockey East Challenge update

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on

Tonight the 4th ranked Wolverines are back home from their weekend road trip in New Hampshire to take on the 14th ranked Boston University Terriers. BOOOO. Gametime is at 7 pm and is on tv on channel 900 for Comcast subscribers. Also on the local university tv network. There is no football this weekend so if you're on campus or in the area GET TO THE GAME. Michigan hockey has been pretty marvelous so far this season and with a young team is already in the top 5 looking to hit that 2nd then 1st seed hopefully soon! Huge games for them this weekend in the Hockey East VS B1G 10 challenge, which we are trailing 9-4 in. The Wolverines have a huge chance for some big wins this week against BU tonight and UMass Lowell coming tomorrow. We all know there's no football tomorrow so get your fill of hockey in! This weekend is going to be big for our hockey team! And, of course, M accounts for all 4 of B1G's points.

I think all the planned TV coverage for later in the season already has me spoiled because I'm upset that neither #4 Michigan v #13 BU or #4 Michigan v #18 Lowell are on TV.

One thing the challenge really needs to do next year to gain ground as an Actual Thing is to make sure as many games are televised as possible. Last weekend I think only the M/UNH games were on and this weekend only Minnesota/BC. Need to get more challenge games on TV

Very minor point, but the game notes - HERE - have some of the historical information on our record against Boston University. We are 13-10 overall apparently, 4-0 at home, 2-3 away and 7-7 at neutral sites. The Terriers beat Wisconsin last weekend, I think. This is supposedly the first time that we've played them anywhere in about 4 years too.

The NCHC put up for a vote four names for their championship weekend.  The choices:

1) NCHC Frozen Faceoff

2) NCHC Final Faceoff

3) National Collegiate Hockey Championship

4) NCHC Fabulous Four

I think the choice is FAAAABULOUS, er.... obvious.  Vote here!

I was at the game we lost to BU in the 1997 Frozen Four.  It really sucked.  Game was in Milwaukee and the cheeseheads thought the team in red was Bucky.

Would be great to see the Hagelin Flag, or a facsimile, rolled out for 2015 Recruit Leon Bristedt, who's in town (from Sweden) for an official visit. He visits Minnesota after a stop here. No idea who controls such things...
