He sure is, at the strapping young age of 86!
January 30th, 2011 at 5:37 PM ^
Michigan needs to slow it down.

These are the situations where youth shows itself.

Why does nothing EVER come easy? Up 21 at home to the worst team in the Big 10 and we STILL have to sweat.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
What a pass!
January 30th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
Alligator blood? Wow....
January 30th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
I feel like somebody put acid in my food and I just don't know about it whenever this guy talks.

1) the movie "Rounders" when John Malkovic"s character ("KGB") describes Matt Damon's character at the poker table which would make Doyle seem like he has a chance (yes, the one in a million type) at being a non-douche,
or
2) some other reference that exists in Doyle's mind only which is probably the more likely given the nickname he loves:
"butterfly"
At the end of the first half Doyle said with great enthusiasm " . . . the butterfly has come out of his cocoon!"
seriously. he did.

No wonder nobody respects the B1G. I blame YOU, Doyle.

I don't think I'll ever be as happy as I am tonight to turn off the TV after a win so I can not listen to the announcers anymore.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
Lack of free throws will kill us against better opponents
January 30th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
Ok....feeling better now.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Well that was a whole lot more stressful than it needed to be. Gotta love the production from 3 this game though. I know its Iowa, but making 3's is making 3's and hopefully it provides confidence for the future.

Looks like Hardaway finally found his stroke from beyond
January 30th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
I hope that continues throughout the rest of the season and beyond.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:53 PM ^
Oh god, the butterfly analogy.
But what a game
January 30th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
Oh no! The bee simile!

Triple Double
January 30th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
TRIPLE DOUBLE!!!!
January 30th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
Big ups to Darius for the triple double.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:56 PM ^
Wow. Only two triple-doubles have been recorded in a Big Ten conference game since 2001 -- and they've both happened in the past week.
Well done DMo/Butterfly/Tim Doyle's Secret Crush xoxoxoxo
January 30th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
during conference play. It's the third triple-double overall in Michigan history. Manny did it last year in the non-conference part of the season. Gary Grant did it in 1987 during the NCAA tournament.
January 30th, 2011 at 5:59 PM ^
My god is Iowa bad at defense.
Still, good win in that we didn't lose in a very possible let down game. We shot the ball very, very well.
January 30th, 2011 at 6:01 PM ^
Wow. D-Morris is unbelievable. BTPOY 2012
January 30th, 2011 at 6:04 PM ^
Sunday messed around and got a triple double
January 30th, 2011 at 6:19 PM ^
The 2nd most impressive stat of the game...Colton Christian made club trillion.
January 30th, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
I think Smot is the best 3 point shooter on the team. With a wideopen look, I have more confidence in Smot than anyone else on the team. Game on the line I'll take Stu.
When he smiles, Smot looks like he could be the little brother of that guy on The Office, no, I don't mean Darryl.

Michigan Basketball is fun to watch. Sucks that I have to keep the sound muted though.
January 30th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
There's always radio / MGoBlue.com audio, which I've used when I get sick of the TV morons.
January 30th, 2011 at 7:57 PM ^
great game. first time at Crisler and it didn't dissapoint
January 30th, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
This is a really, really fun team to watch when they're playing a team that they're clearly better than. I hope they improve like I expect them to next year so that they're better than a lot more teams.
January 30th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
I think that's par for the course for such young teams, in any sport.
The last two wins have been great, but the wild swings in our shooting percentages means we're bound to take a southerly dip at some point again. Hopefully not during the conference tournament.
January 30th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
There's actually been a general upward trend in our three-point shooting as the season has gone on. It could be a function of the young guys getting more comfortable in the system and not taking as many rushed threes.

a very fun game to attend this afternoon. It was a shooting gallery for the Wolverines from the 3 point arc; and Darius Morris impresses me more and more each and every game the way he runs that offense. If this team can continue to shoot the ball well down the stretch they could make things interesting in the Big Ten race.
