Auburn accepts Frost commitment
Auburn has accepted Kris Frost's commitment according to Rivals, via twitter.
RT @auburnrivals: Auburn has accepted a commitment from Kris Frost.
Well this sucks. So much for that slim piece of hope.
Edit: Since there are two posts on this at the same time, mods you can delete this one. Thanks.

....hopefully its time for some Hoke snake oil.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:45 AM ^
It's possible but I am doubtful.

It's worth a try to get him to come to Michigan. I hope Hoke is able to get him to rethink his decision and dominate in the B1G. He will be a stud wherever he plays, that is for sure.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:50 AM ^
I just don't think it will help our chances, but have to try.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:59 AM ^
that is at a position of need, and is half committed to another school because he has not met the new coach. Yeah, he probably should have been visited already by the coaches.

The gift that keeps on giving.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:41 AM ^
...except we keep getting coal in our stockings.

Have we ever just not had a recruiting class? At this point it seems like we're closer to just going "aw....the heck with it" and starting work on next year.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:47 AM ^
With that said I think I hear Rosanna singing now!
January 18th, 2011 at 9:48 AM ^
specifically said that IF they say no we have a shot.
It is over.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:48 AM ^
I'll be the first to say it: hold me TomVH.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:52 AM ^
I always assumed Auburn would find a spot for him in their class, its just going to come down what he wants, a school that went through a coaching change, or a school that he almost wasn't good enough for. I believe he will be at Michigan next year.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:55 AM ^
I'll be at the bar. If you need to find me, I'll be the one drinking the tall glass of Reality, with a whiskey chaser.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:00 AM ^
Reality or pessimism? Being told by a school they would think about accepting your commitment you made on national tv would have serious impact on me.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:12 AM ^
Reality. The hot girl we liked asked some other guy to go to the prom. He said yes. Presumably she liked him better because he is more attractive, looks like a better long-term bet, and has more coaching staff stability (okay, so the metaphor breaks down here).
Sure, he had to check and make sure he was still free that night... but I'm not exactly renting a tux if you know what I mean.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:58 AM ^
Wasn't Frost one of those who wanted to go to a quality school? If that matters to him, I just don't see how you pick Auburn over Michigan. I understand the effect of all the coaching turmoil, but if Hoke reassures him, why would someone who cares about the school (and not just football) want to go to Auburn over UM? So I hold out Hoke until I hear that it's over with Frost.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:57 AM ^
At the same exact time, plus I edited it to say for the mods to delete. So nice try.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:02 AM ^
Haha i know.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:58 AM ^
Hey rookie, you can't do that yet.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:20 AM ^
thats especially funny coming from Zack Morris
January 18th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
No, it was A.C. Preppy.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:03 AM ^
The only possibility for Frost to decommit is if Hoke lands a big name DC. And so far I don't see that happening!
January 18th, 2011 at 10:08 AM ^
Frost is done now. He is simply not coming to Michigan.
This class could be a real problem come 2014.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:03 AM ^
Another good start to the am....@GeoffVogt16: Dallas Crawford committed to Miami.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:16 AM ^
I saw that too. Just keep adding to the pile.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
has more to do with the horrible timing of the Hire/Fire process than the new coaching staff. Let's face it, DB sacrificed our incoming recruiting class to interview a bunch of guys who led him to the coach that would have come here months ago. Hoke said himself he would have gladly walked from San Diego if he had to. This is the Dong Punch that doesn't quit...
January 18th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
to get a beast linebacker in here????
Until then, got my eye on you, Furman... honor the #6.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:26 AM ^
Just give Furman a neck roll and call it good.
January 18th, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
Pick us so he sucks right?
January 18th, 2011 at 10:43 AM ^
The article on Rivals has Frost's mom quoted as saying he is "all in" for Auburn.
Another swing and miss!

OK - (almost) everyone on this board is seriously freaking out. I like to follow recruiting as much as the next guy, but seriously - chill the fuck out.
One recruiting class does not a great team make. And one bad recruiting class won't break us. All the guys who were going to be contributors for the next year or two are on campus already and have bought in to coach Hoke. If he wins games for us, the recruits will come in. If he doesn't, it really won't matter whether or not we got another 4 star or two in this class.
It seemed like people were pretty excited about Hoke a week ago, and then we lost a few recruits that weren't even his fault. Seriously, let's settle down. I'm not saying to not follow the recruiting, but don't get all bent out of shape when a guy you wanted doesn't go our way. Or - rip on the coach of the team you love and get yourseld all angry and pissed. Whichever you like better.
January 18th, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
Wow. You're like, the anti-Dudeness. I have to say, though, "WolvinLA2 abides" doesn't quite sound right.
I agree with what you're saying though - while it looks kinda bad, we're dealing with yet another transition. Things will catch up. I think we have to go into this thinking there's something the coaches know that we don't. We have to let them do their jobs. If we don't, it'll be another RichRod situation. Then - in a few years, we won't have anyone who wants to coach for us, because we've scared off all the "outsiders" and pissed off all the "Michigan Men."
Then again, that might not be too bad - Hello: Coach Mike Hart?
January 18th, 2011 at 12:02 PM ^
seriously. will everyone stop being so bi-polar. take a deep breathe and borrow one of your moms lithiums and CTFD

I know what you're saying, but a weak 2011 class translates to a weak RS junior/senior class in 2014, when those guys would be traditionally expected to be the biggest contributors on the team. I know that's not always the case (see: 2010, Michigan), but it is enough for it to be a decent rule of thumb.
