Fred Jackson is by far the greatest recruiter in the history of the NCAA that I've ever seen.
Seriously, though, I'm so glad he's still around.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:15 PM ^
NCAA? Ha, he is the best recruiter in the galaxy, nay, universe!
January 17th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
Did he recruit Mesko? :)
January 17th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
Fred Jackson does not recruit. Players recruit him.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
Then who does Justice Hayes recruit? That's the real question...cuz I'm kinda still waiting.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
On the 5th day, Fred Jackson created recruiting and he saw that it was good.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
Fred Jackson stopped recruiting 20 years ago. Recruits just haven't build up the courage to say no to him yet.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
throw Chung under the bus for that fake punt yesterday? Obviously it wasn't with ill will.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:37 PM ^
Chung did royally fuck that up.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
but not sure it was necessary to tell the world it was ALL his decision.
January 17th, 2011 at 7:04 PM ^
Uh, I seem to remember that game in East Lansing in 2009 (I think) when when Zoltan apparently had the green light to run for the first down and didn't make it. A catastrophically bad decision, and wasn't there some feeling that RichRod threw Zoltan under the bus in the postgame presser?
What goes around comes around, or the punting shoe is on the other foot…
January 17th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
mesko was recruited by the voyager satellite
January 17th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
Mesko was Rivals first ever 6th star athlete.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
January 17th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
I hear his Punts are actually messages back to his home planet, checking in on his mineons sp?
January 17th, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
That would be Mineyoins . Of Mongol origin first recorded being used in the 4th century.
You're welcome.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:18 PM ^
The NCAA's greatest recruiter in the NCAA!
January 17th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
January 18th, 2011 at 7:33 AM ^
so did Dee Hart
January 17th, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
Coach J will inform him that he reminds him of Ray Lewis, but faster. Good Luck with the visit Coach J!
January 17th, 2011 at 7:17 PM ^
I think he'll go with "You're just like David Harris, except stronger, quicker reactions, and can tackle better. And you hit harder too. Basically, your the best linebacker i've ever seen."
January 17th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
This is good news. Hopefully Fred Jackson can sure up his commitment. It might be hard letting him know how he might fit into the system without a DC, but I’m sure Jackson can find the words.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
in Bolivia?
January 17th, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
Living proof you can escape from bolivia.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:37 PM ^
I don't see a "Save Ken" post like there was for Fu man
January 17th, 2011 at 6:07 PM ^
He is named "Ken".
January 17th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
But Fu did it in a most original and compelling way, with the prison image and the sig line, and the character of his posts generally.
I fear that others will not achieve similar redemption.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
I think Brian should post an Outside The Lines Redemptions post on your epic recovery. This will be better than the Charlie Sheen E True Hollywood Story.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
Fred Jackson not only walks on water, he can transform it into wine.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
hang on.. no wine
jones is still 18
January 17th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
It's that none alcoholic wine product stuff, You know the stuff they serve kids at weddings.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:48 PM ^
You mean grape juice?
January 17th, 2011 at 6:23 PM ^
January 17th, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
I hope he is selling like crazy in the next two weeks. It's the end of the quarter big fella and we need some 4 star talent!
January 17th, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
Thank you teasing me with the headline of your post. Needless-to-say I saw "Kellen Jones" and was expecting the absolute worst when I opened it up.
Hearing that Fred's on his way out to see him is happy news indeed.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
So apparently there's a need for Freddy Schmooze to fly down to see Kellen. Doesn't anyone else find this a bit disconcerting?
If Kellen was in the bag there should be no need for FJ to make a personal visit.
God speed, Mr. Jackson.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
Jones still describes himself as a solid commit; once a DC is named and he talks to each member of the new staff, he'll lock down his recruitment. Don't be worried at all about Kellen Jones.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
It's possible that he's not going because there's a "need" to go, as much as to do one last swing through before signing day. I mean, we already knew he was going on other visits, that alone is a reason.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:29 PM ^
Didn't want to create a new thread, but anyone know about Deion Barnes?
Pretty highly ranked DE interested in Michigan, at least, before RR's firing. Any chance to get him to visit Hoke.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
I believe Deion said Michigan was out, when RR was out. TomVH should know the deets.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
I'd bet my life that Kellen Jones ends up in Michigan's class.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
I really wouldn't do that if I was you. Just saying.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:36 PM ^
Why do you say that, out of curiosity? Do you know something we don't or are you trying to be funny?
January 17th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
He's committed to Michigan the program. He's insisted the last couple of weeks that he's still solid, he's just waiting for a DC to be named; thats it. Sure he's visiting Miami, but that's just a precaution for....
Unless they bring in a DC who pulls his offer (unlikely), Kellen Jones is going to Michigan.
January 17th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
I was actually not replying to you, but to the guy who replied to you.
January 17th, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
That was what Countess said as well, he's committed to the school not the coach and we might end up losing him. But hey, it's your life your losing not mine. God Speed buddy.
January 17th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
Can we hold you to that?
and if you are wrong (please don't be wrong) how would you like to go?
