Friday Night Football Open Thread

is a player to watch.  He's likely to be drafted in 2nd/3rd round.  Not near the prospect that Joe Flacco is coming out of college, but still a good prospect.

That was a really fast 1st quarter.  From my angle Delaware dominated it, but is only up 6-0.

I'd take Keeler

Delaware up 9-0 after a long drive that settled for a 29 yrd FG.  Got a break in there with a pick called back for offsides. 

Their offense is intriguing b/c it looks compatible with the players we have and their QB has the abillity to get up under center. They've had a few power plays mixed in.  I like the versatility.  I could see this working.

I might have to be in class in Pittsburgh on Monday, but I just cleared my schedule until then!  It's 1,250 miles to Frisco Texas, I have a full tank of gas, half a bottle of chloroform, it's dark and I'm wearing sunglasses. Not surprised Harbaugh chose to go to the pros - this was going to be his best chance to get a good deal.  I'm not sure he'll succeed at SF unless he gets a good QB there, but they'll probably make the playoffs and that is enough.

I still think Miles is the odds-on choice with Hoke a backup.  I'm not crazy about either of them (I would prefer Patterson or Mullen), but I guess it would help with recruiting in the short term.

I will transfer to LSU if Miles is our next coach.

They destroyed UMASS last year, FWIW.

Does anyone notice that the Championship is being played between two teams not ranked 1st or 2nd?

Delaware is really dominating this game but settling for FGs (yes, those exist).  Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite them.

Delaware drive stalls on the 20, FG is good, 5 minutes to halftime.

I doubt that Miles will be our next coach, but I'm losing track of who it would be a giant fuck you to if we did hire him. Lloyd? Martin? Bo? Harbaugh?

Joe Biden is hanging out with the announcers for the Delaware game.  I knew he's an alum but definitely a pleasant surprise.

FOX should be banned from broadcasting college games.  We blast ESPN for a lot of stuff, but one thing they have right is a good set of announcers that are great for the college game.  Listening to Kenny Albert butcher his way through a college game?  No thanks.  Mute button, you are my savior.
