Not sure if the suspension will be lowered, however.
(I'm not able to post new topics, yet. Just thought I would share this with the board.)
December 30th, 2010 at 11:36 AM ^
This isn't mean to degrade your post, the info is good.....but who the hell cares about five OSU football players with zero integrity and zero compassion for the Michigan game.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:41 AM ^
These 5 players (esp. Pryor) certainly impact the Big 10, so I thought I would share it. It will be interesting to see if their suspensions are lowered--game 5 is v. Michigan State. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Apparently Tressel's "condition" for the suspended 5 to play in the Sugar Bowl was a commitment they would return for their senior year. Tressel says this is so the players couldn't skirt any NCAA punishment (ie play in Sugar Bowl, go pro, never serve any suspension). Good spin?
December 30th, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
Exactly. Let's see their commitment to stay at OSU AFTER the Zero Integrity, I mean Sugar Bowl.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:48 AM ^
Tressel made them pledge to stay next year, because he said "It wouldn't be fair to play the bowl game and leave the program". I think this is very weird and I fully expect some of them to leave, eventhough they "pledged".
December 30th, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
What sort of fucking fantasy, keep my eyes closed, they didn't know any better world does Tressel live in?
December 30th, 2010 at 11:47 AM ^
I'd prefer that they be suspended from the Sugar Bowl and not return next year, but I guess logic and reason prevailed in a place where such concepts cannot be grasped. Darn it. It would have been nice to have seen osu loose to the SEC for the 10th time in a row and to see their best athletss gone next year. Would have been nice...would have been nice.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:05 PM ^
OSU looks better, but this is not a gimme. If a potentially distracted Pryor makes some mistakes and Mallett doesn't, I could see Arkansas winning.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:33 AM ^
Shouldn't at least ONE of the teams be ranked to warrant an open thread?
December 30th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
I am sure the Army players all have some sort of rank.

I will email Brian to try and give you a +1000 for that comment.
GOD BLESS THE ARMY

I like Army.

How about crewcut vs. Marcus Dupree's glasses ??
December 30th, 2010 at 11:45 AM ^
never went to SMU
December 30th, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
oops, stupid me...I wasn't thinking.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
"When I was 35 years old, he attempted to give me a crew cut while I was sleeping one afternoon. I woke up, broke his arm, haven't seen him since. I'd rather live out on the streets instead of under is freaky rules"
December 30th, 2010 at 11:47 AM ^
If they win, you are more than welcome to come to my house and have some pancakes.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
Straight up or ATS? I have SMU -7.5, but am not to confident about it. And yes, with less than 20 games left in CFB, I have to bet on every game.
December 30th, 2010 at 12:00 PM ^
Straight up. So far this has not been a successful bowl season for me. I am starting to learn never to disagree with Vegas...at least not much.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:53 AM ^
so you can root for someone from Michigan at least.

The Lady announcer reminds me of Roasanne's sister in her show. Maybe it is the voice...
December 30th, 2010 at 12:07 PM ^
Well. I am shocked and awed at this start...
Fumble return for TD
7-0 Army

Watch those flanks.

SMU with the fake punt! Good call!
Shitty penalty call. He hit him on the side, not in the back. There is a difference. Are these Sun-Belt refs?
December 30th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
I hope these games are better then yesterdays.
I'm stuck watching the games today with my in-laws. Is it to early to start drinking; my wifes parents already think I drink to much.

Coffee and Baily's. Get decaf if you need more than two...

Another salvo by Army....looking like no pancake dinner at my house.
13-0 XP blocked. A kid from Estonia made the block.

Lt. DAN!!!!!!111!!1!!!!!!1!
December 30th, 2010 at 12:43 PM ^
Too bad SMU doesn't pay their players anymore, I would love to here talk of their $80,000 Banjo
December 30th, 2010 at 1:00 PM ^
Good start so far. I posted on this bowl this morning at the JCB and we have Army +8 and a couple of props: Jarred Hassin Over 67.5 rushing yards and Aldrick Robinson Over 87.5 receiving yards.
Army up 13, both props are on pace. Very nice so far, but a looooong way to go.
Just updated the blog, btw, to include a post on the other three games. Go read it at halftime, lol.
December 30th, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
Between turnovers and penalties, SMU is just killing itself.
December 30th, 2010 at 1:30 PM ^
this has to be one of the least entertaining matchups this season.
December 30th, 2010 at 1:33 PM ^
SMU isn't normally this bad, but they've been a much better 2nd half team in the few games I've gotten to watch this season, including their come back against TCU at home. I'm a bit worried that my 27 confidence points are in jeopardy at this point. This is still a pretty big lead against a team that will eat up clock in the 2nd half.
December 30th, 2010 at 1:44 PM ^
Padron looks like Sheridan out there right now.
December 30th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
At the Half,, a JCB update
Army +8, up 16-0
Aldrick Robinson Over 87.5 receiving yards. He has 55
Jarrid Hassin Over 67.5 rushing yards. He has 48
SMU was -7 in the second half. I thought about hedging, but decided against it. I'm liking how this game is shaping up for us.
December 30th, 2010 at 2:05 PM ^
I don't bet, but your stuff is entertaining and informative. Good luck with your picks (looking good for this game at least).
December 30th, 2010 at 2:03 PM ^
Interesting. This game is being played at SMU's home field and is called Gerald Ford stadium (NTGF). Apparently there was a billionaire named Gerald Ford who financed this back in the late 90s. That's a bit odd.
<br>In other news, Dave Brandon is set to announce a new basketball arena which will be called Millard Fillmore Field House (NTMF).
