Moderator Action Sticky

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

Brian has requested that instead of deleting each individual comment in the Moderator Action Sticky, that we instead just create a new thread. It takes hours of less time, preserves the comments for future explanations, and just clears things up faster.

You'll notice that the previous thread is now locked, and will slowly fade back into darkness. For the time being, the link from the Useful Stuff menu will point to the wrong location. We're working on a fix for that.

This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

New Thread.

Your wish is my command. Penalty for a double post on the front page = 200 points or reduction to zero for one month, whichever is greater.

I'm not hammering everyone, only egregious offenders. Without the point system, there needs to be something that keeps this place from descending into the bowels of MLive.

Two posts within five minutes results in a post deletion. Re-posting an ESPN article from four days ago results in MOAR ANGAR!

I deleted a bunch of comments in the thread I think you referenced. Most of them were yours, because the flaming started either right above or right below your comments--some might say as a result of your comments. In the future, mentioning anything about any President is going to ignite strong passions that are going to burn up on an anonymous message board. Just be an adult and refrain from mentioning them per the rules of the board. Also, don't make vague accusations on the mod thread. Provide a link if you want to complain about someone's actions.

FWIW, the .gif of him kicking the door down is hilarious.

Can't you just thicken your skin or someting? You honestly want people spending their nights making sure nobody says

"Coming from the dude who started a new account because his normal one is negged to hell."

... to you? This is the second time this week you've come to the mod thread to complain about flaming where you're the main protagonist.

You know that is not true. The reply I am complaining about is a reply to my post where all I said is that the threshold for moderating posts with the point system should be raised. Tell me how that post is me being the instigator. I would love to hear the logic.

I am getting completely sick of this crap. This board is really starting to turn into RCMB with the mob mentality now. I can make a post where all I say is go blue and it is automatically negged to hell.

I am starting to believe mlive is more mature than this board.

Thunked down to the boards. I like the word Thunked. Sort of onomatopoetic, n'est pas?

Anyway I changed the title from "Why Mainstream Media = Nazi Terrorist Buckeyes: The Story of the 'Liar Liar' billboards" or something like that to what you see above.

Let it be known, from this day: Let it ring forth across this great land, that Section 1 doesn't like mainstream media. Also: he apparently has a telephone and used it to call a guy who said "i dunno." Board: okay, it's new information and certainly suggests not everyone was following up well in making the assumption that the billboard was made by Michigan fans. But speaking from one MSM editor's perspective, it doesn't make the fold.

Als Let it be known, from this day: Michigan hates Ohio State.

Wasn't my title all along simply "The story of the Liar Liar billboards"...?  Actually, I think I started it as my own Diary entry as "Media Fail: The Story of the Liar Liar billboards."

Anyway, I just really want to thank Brian Cook for his assistance and involvement, in proving just a few days later that I was right all along, by virtue of somebody's subsequent Facebook-sleuthing.

Again, it is astonishing how many people missed the point.  "Michigan fans" had been affirmatively alleged to have been behind the billboard.  I took that allegation down to nothing, when Bob Brown admitted to me that he had told no one in the media that it was a "Michigan fan."  And of course no one in the media anywhere had put 2 and 2 together, in the form of the 34-24 billboards of last December, courtesy of Bob Brown, Tom Carroll and CBS Outdoor-Detroit.

The Brian with a Michigan Blog (NTBWAMB), The Other Brian of Genuinely Sarcastic fame is back.

Welcome back Other Brian, one of my favorite posters!

Sadly this does not deserve its own thread. Thread removed.

Thread was speculating on player names because of some dude's tweet. Needed to die.

Still, for precaution's sake, Michigan's entire defensive backfield has been moved to an undisclosed location guarded by 30 SEALS.
