TomVH: Avery Walls Decision Date

Submitted by TomVH on
H/T to Christian Sack on Twitter who told me Avery Walls will be making his decision on December 14th at 9:40am. I'll talk with Avery to double check later. I think Oregon may lead, he's hard to read though so I'm not positive.

Hope this isn't true, but OregonLive seems to think Avery might be a silent commit for the Ducks:

"Avery Walls has been rumored to be a silent commit. May be, maybe not. But he's in Atlanta and if Chip's going to Atlanta, well, that'd make some sense."

I think he'd look better with the Maize n' Blue, and that the Michigan degree might make him slightly more likely for a Rhodes Scolarship one day.  Michigan has a 24-19 edge over the Ducks in that category and a more recent awardee (2009 v. 2007).

Guys, hope for thebest but expect the worst with this recruitment. Dave brandon isn't helping any and I can't believe that Walls will pick a program with so much uncertainty surrounding the head football coach. I know at one point Walls was a heavy lean but at this point  all I can say is...He ain't coming...

its way late, but I talked to Avery via facebook few days before he made his decision....

Q: Does Michigan's coaching situation knock them out of consideration for you?

A:(Avery Walls) Dec. 9th @ 1:35AM Thanks Man. I will talk to Coach RR in a few days. Then I get a few days to make final decision

Its not much but the CC def. played major role into him going to Cal even tho many thought he wanted to go out West
