It was a Big Ten road game, in November, in horrible weather, both teams had multiple unforced turnovers.  These bad weather games happen and they are not pretty.  The trick is to get the W and get the hell out of town.  We did.  This is a good thing!

The win also means that the team will go some place warm for a bowl game.  I bet you my last beer that this means a lot to the guys on the team, especially the seniors.

If you still feel bad about this game, please see 3 and 9, and 5 and 7.  Remember hearing the "Boiler Up" chant (whatever that means) in the Big House last year?  I do.  Well, those assholes can shut the hell up.  Excuse me if I don't care that it wasn't pretty.

How remarkable is this?

We spent the whole day trying to find an offensive consistency, on a slow track, against a defense that played as good as it can play, but we were sitting on nearly 400 yards total offense?

The guys really brought it up a notch getting those first downs and eventually the  touchdown on that last drive.

The possibilities are damn exciting going forward.

On Defense, does anyone else think this is the best tackling game for our defense since Rich took over?  The only bad miss that stands out is that first down swing pass that ended up going for 40 yards in the 4th.( The play right before the muffed handoff.)

Hail the Victors Valiant.

Agreed. The weather/injury situation really limited the Purdue passing game, but our Defense got good pressure and managed to stop the run for the majority of the game. I'm nervous about them going against Wisconsin and Ohio State, but they definitely showed some potential out there.

No matter how good you are, ther are weeks when you aren't at your best...Oregon 15 - Cal 13.  Chip Kelly postgame interview, "A win is a win, we're 10 and  0.  We have a bye next week, and we'll fix what we have to fix."   It's time to truly value a win...not matter what it looks like.
