I want Karlos here, not at FSU..

Karlos AND Mr. Jernigan

The home grounds crew is going to get a mouthful from NC State's head coach the way this drive is going. Two runs for nothing because of slipping. Sure it's been raining in Raleigh, but get that turf secure.
October 28th, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
I thought FSU would roll, but its the ACC so who knows.
October 28th, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
Neither team looks particularly good so far, but this is the ACC so I'm not surprised. That TENNNNNNNUUUUUUUUUTA defense looks decent, but then again FSU hasn't had a good offense since I was in HS.
October 28th, 2010 at 8:20 PM ^
how many 5 stars does it take before florida state has a good defense again this is ridiculous
October 28th, 2010 at 8:30 PM ^
I watched Russell Wilson play against a team on which I was an assistant when he was at Collegiate. He was really good. It's fun to see him do well against FSU, and realize that part of the reason he tore us up had nothing whatsoever to do with our guys.

NC State OL to end that last drive reminded me a lot of that one picture of Michigan's OL not blocking any of Ohio State's defensive line.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:19 PM ^
Someone should get the picture of what the FSU linemen just did.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:21 PM ^
It's not unusual. Michigan ran that "play" quite a few times in RR's first year. They snap the ball on the off sides then just stay still. Always looks funny, but yeah.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:32 PM ^
Yeah they did it in the Utah game I think.

I like how universities choose the earliest possible date for their seals. The school that became FSU may have been founded in 1851, but it was a tiny women's school until around WWII.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
I also like when those for-profit schools buy a failing school, co-op the name and history, and then put out ads that they have been around for 75 years. Last time I checked, a school whose major exports are degrees in computer graphics and digital sound mixing wouldn't be a good choice before, you know, computer existed in any reasonable form.

Is Snooki a FSU cheerleader? I gotta find a picture of that...

"If Reid could have stayed in bounds, he could have scored."
Story of this game. Stupid mistakes, careless errors, offensive big plays killed left and right.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
I just turned this game on. Should FSU be up by much more?
October 28th, 2010 at 9:16 PM ^
They've had a few drives killed by bonehead penalties. NC State/TENUTA have put good pressure on Ponder though.
I wouldn't say up much more, but they probably could have at least another touchdown.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:21 PM ^
Mike Stoops is scaring me.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
Did Dr. Lou just say some people have an outlet of "drinking" and that "you should do your job and your outlet to the best of your ability"?
I'll drink to that.

OK, I refuse to start a new thread about this, because it is semi-on-topic, and I figured like the EDSBS and Dr. Saturday Open Threads, this could be a side topic.
OK, so this is ESPN's version of the Michigan logo:
Now, this bothers me on a couple of levels.
For starters, Michigan could do very well by sending them this logo:
which would look cleaner and stronger on their pages.
If they did want to go split M, they should either go with the current version:
or the properly shaped version of the one they're using:
I know it's obsessive, but it really bugs me when I am reading Rittenberg. I thank you for your time.
October 28th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
And they often put it against a maize background, which looks even worse.

Here are the three official logos from the UMich site:
Which of the three would you prefer?
(OK, there's also:
but that seems like it wouldn't work.)
October 28th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Anyone else watching this game? Russell Wilson is Houdini.
October 28th, 2010 at 10:41 PM ^
Flipped over to the baseball game. Getting exciting there too. Judging by the explosion in my twitter feed, apparently he did something totally ridiculous.
October 28th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
Either NC State is not going to play defense on this drive, or they're letting Florida State get the score so they can have the ball last?
October 28th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
I'm going to negbomb the hell out of the next MSU thread.
/sarcasm
/maybe
October 28th, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
And I am in love with several of NC State's cheerleaders.
October 28th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing.
October 28th, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
That penalty was so worth it. Boom. Ball game.
October 28th, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
That was not the ending I expected.
October 28th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
HOLD ONTO THE FOOTBALL!!
October 28th, 2010 at 11:13 PM ^
like I said earlier in the thead its the ACC you never know. This game was everything that the ACC is. A team you'd think would win is defeated by a weird play.
Spin the ever changing wheel of the ACC to get a champion
