Today Kicks Off 2010 College Football
In about 18 hours the first kickoff of the first game will occur at Groves Stadium for the matchup between Wake Forest and Presbyterian. Although that game may not get you excited there are 18 games that are going to be played.
Two games will be on the Big Ten Network as Indiana squares off against Towson at 7:30 pm, and Ohio State vs. Marshall
There are actually four top-25 teams that are playing today being Ohio State (2), Miami (13), USC (14), and Pitt (15).
I was wondering which game would you all most like to see. In my opinion I want to watch Ohio State vs. Marshall and Pittsburgh vs. Utah.
Here's the link for today's schedule:

By the looks of it, people in Michigan will be able to watch OSU/Marshall. To check which game you can see, here is the site:

Amen. Although like Christmas, you don't get your gifts until you go to bed and wake up in the morning.

I would like to see Marshall beat OSU
September 2nd, 2010 at 6:56 AM ^
I'm glad you clarified that for us.
September 2nd, 2010 at 7:22 AM ^
Really? I would like to see UM beat UCONN.
September 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 AM ^
I would prefer OSU be undefeated so we can ruin their NC hopes in late November. Oh what a happy day that would be. We would also win the B10 that day and thus also deny OSU the Rose Bowl bid.

I am living in OR and have comcast. I have the BTN package, and I was wondering if they will have the BTN alternates when there is more than one game on at the same time?
So when Michigan plays UMass in a couple weeks will I be guaranteed to get the game? Or will it depend on what other games are on.
I'm paying extra for this shit so I'd better get my Michigan!

For me channels 692, 693, and 694 are the Big Ten spillover channels. I think that may be consistent throughout the country.
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:06 AM ^
The normal Big Ten Network Channel is labeled BIG10...how are these three alernate channels labeled? I'm trying to figure out which ones they are.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:59 AM ^
I'm in Indiana, close to Chicago, and getting Towson/IU on the main BTN channel and the OSU game is on the alternate network. I believe BTN has 3 or 4 alternate channels, so you should be set at any point in the season.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:47 AM ^
And we get the alternate BTN channels here when there are simultaneous games going on.

Seeing them upset Ohio State to kick off the college football season would be pure bliss...

knucklehead Herbie picked them to win the National Championship

Hmm. It's always exciting to have college football back. But week one never provides any really interesting games. 80% of the powers open up with 1-AA teams. The majority of the rest play MAC schools or other non-BCS conference teams.
Other than our game with UConn, the most interesting games look to be Purdue/Notre Dame, Kansas State/UCLA and Washington State/Oklahoma State.
Kentucky/Louisville might be interesting. They have had some decent matchups recently.

What about LSU/UNC, ORST/TCU, and Boise/VTech (Monday)?
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:00 AM ^
I think BYU-Washington is fairly interesting as well.
September 2nd, 2010 at 3:40 PM ^
Exactly...there are a few good games to kick off the season but most of them are just cupcakes playing elite teams.
Things pick up a bit after this week, with Miami playing Ohio State, and FSU playing Oklahoma.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:52 AM ^
Ohio State vs Marshal is definitely the game I am most looking forward to watching but I am definitely going to be watching USC and rooting against Lane Kiffin who I dislike almost as much as Ohio State.... well.... not quite that much but you get the point.

In regards to USC playing Hawaii, is there an NCAA loophole that if you play Hawaii, your team can schedule a 13th game? I don't know if it's a rumor or if it's true.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:03 AM ^
Ya thats right I think.
I think they did it as incentive for teams to play Hawaii. Otherwise, people were looking at that trip and saying hell no. Expensive, really wears on your team, and its a chance to be upset because of the time change and because who can focus on football when youre in Hawaii?
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:04 AM ^
this is the truth. It was discussed that USC might not be aloud to take advantage of this due to the sanctions but they decided to let them.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:19 AM ^
I would prefer it if USC just kept it to themselves
September 2nd, 2010 at 8:52 AM ^
The waiver to add a 13th game is only in years that you play at Hawaii, not if they come to the mainland to play you. That's why in any given year, half the teams in the WAC have a 13 game schedule and half of them have a 12 game schedule.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:33 AM ^
Not really excited about this one but I do believe Middle Tennessee is the favorite.
September 2nd, 2010 at 8:25 AM ^
Isn't Dasher suspended now though? If he doesn't play, they won't win.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:34 AM ^
It's weird that Minnesota is traveling to Tennessee for this one...this is cleary an upset watch for Minnesota...not a good game for the B10.

Any real games are welcome. TGIfootball season.
From Las Vegas a three-team Big Ten parlay:
Marshall +28.5 (at OSU) -- Tressel plays it close to the vest; Marshall offense not bad
Michigan -3 (vs. UConn) -- UConn can't stop run, UM can; UConn can't pass well enough
Purdue +11.5 (at ND) -- ND wins close one
September 2nd, 2010 at 6:41 AM ^
Only complaint is that most of these games are against cupcakes
The real games start next week
September 2nd, 2010 at 8:58 AM ^
I'm definitely looking forward to the following games:
Southern Miss v. USC
Marchall v. Ohio State
Pitt v. Utah
Southern Cal v. Hawaii
Three of the four games have teams that have to have a strong start to give them momentum going into the season or the wheels could fall off (USC, Pitt, Southern Cal).
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:21 PM ^
Orson knocked it out of the park with this:
As usual, South Carolina will take your hot and bothered self back to the hotel room for anticipated football action, fail to get it up, and then spend the rest of three drunken hours apologizing and saying how, "It used to work a lot better than this, I promise."
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:11 PM ^
Finally. I couldn't stand baseball any longer.
