You are UConn Coach:
What is your game plan?
On offense, I would pound the ball up the middle and see if M can stop me.
I would attack the linebackers with short routes over the middle for 8 yards.
I would try to confuse the rookie defensive backs and beat them long.
If they are playing 8 yards off the line, I would throw 5 yard out-routes all day.
On defense, I would try to pressure the young quarterbacks into making mistakes.
Penetrate the line of scrimmage and break up the running game.
Put in a "scrape" to stop the read option.
I would assign 1 linebacker every play to stay in front of Denard.
I would pressure M's rookie punter and place kickers.

DAMN Pat White was good.

So was Slaton and Devine. We may have our Pat White, but we have neither Slaton nor Devine. Big, big difference.

...to the day when RR speaks as enthusiastically after a HUGE Michigan year. The difference between interviews then and now is palpable.

So I am part of an interesting coaching staff on my kids Pee Wee team. The head coach is an OSU grad, and his son is a Freshman at App State. One of the other assistants is a big UConn fan.
Well we have four returing starters, and 8 kids who have actually played tackle. Our first game was Saturday, and with only five full contact practices (heat index and lightning issues), we had our asses handed to us on Saturday.
Anyway, after the game UConn guys said "I hope UConn doesn't have the same experience in the Big House", to which I looked at him and said, "Sorry, I really hope they do".
I've read a bunch of the UConn stuff, and how (like App State) they dedicated their summer to beating Michigan. The main difference is, this ain't no sleeper game. Our guys aren't spending this week focsued on Notre Dame.
We'll see on the defense, but I think the Wolverine's open up a can of offensive whoop-ass.

If I am coach of UConn I understand that in 6 days our team will feel the full force of all who have doubted Michigan football for the last 2 years. UConn is about to enter a world of pain.

At this point? Probably ask my AD why he thought it was a good idea to schedule this game after all the crap UM has been put through the past few years, how this was a rededication of the stadium, and how UM rarely loses a home opener. I think UConn is a good team and may even finish with a better record than UM this year, but outside of a legit top-15 school I don't think anybody would be able to handle the level of passion that you will see out of the Wolverines.

Hubris is pretty funny.

I would line up 5 wide on offense and not allow our front seven to get any pressure by using quick, dump off passing. Defensively I would do nothing because there's nothing you can do to stop shoelace and crew.

If I am UConn's coach I hope we're up to the task of blocking Mike Martin.
And that Craig Roh is accounted for on every snap

Take the week off...Then quit.
Nothing is going to help them after UM touches the banner.

I would run, run and run some more. I personally am hoping that we will be better against the run this year. However, since we were 92nd in the nation stopping the run, and we're playing a smashmouth offense... It just makes sense. This is a great test for our defense, and the name of the game will be tackling. Just hit, wrap, and drive the legs. Go Blue! We are so close....
