OT - Cushing blames "overtraining" for positive PED test
Brian Cushing is just so awesome and worked so hard that his body started producing steroids all on its own.

Gosh, I can relate. My body just oozes HGH when I'm hittin' the gym.
for cocaine because he just stayed away from it so extremely hard
Indeed, it has been some time since Jeff Smoker had crossed my mind; a cautionary tale that.
To be fair, I hear that the horse whose testosterone Cushing had been using rarely worked with its laptop on its lap.
lol, guess we now know how he trains then.
He must be the only player in the NFL who works hard. Clearly, the rest of the league doesn't spend enough time in the weight room.
Honestly, HCG doesn't really do anything. It's the same as DHEA. It's over the counter but banned by the NFL. It really shouldn't be. That said, a rule is a rule and he broke it.
doesn't do anything. but it's usually used as a steroid masking agent/at the end of a cycle.
You're right, it is many times used at the end of a steroid cycle, however, it's not used as a masking agent. It's used to jump start testosterone production because steroids shut down your natural testosterone production.
Exactly, so why do you think that it should not be banned by the NFL?
they ban it basically because they feel whoever took it was previously on steroids. Did he? probably. But if you're going to bust someone for steroids or growth peds, they should have to test positive for that specific steroid or ped. Basically, before you convict I think you should have direct evidence. Obviously, that's just my opinion, and I can understand while others would argue differently.
Even his name itself if a disease for excess use of steroids

Poor guy doesnt stand a chance.
USC's football players must get their degrees in Bullshitology because they seem to play it pretty slick when lying through their teeth.
I take it that Cushing's 23 on the Wonderlic was due to his undertraining in the academic areas?
I know! Listen, this guy just spent an hour in the gym 5 days a week, and look what happened to him.
You just made me spit out my androstenedione!
I can take him. He's not that buff.
I'm surprised that nobody has used this defense already. Excercise and weight control are recommended to help raise testosterone levels, especially that which is decreased by the aging process. Usually, though, the people found guilty by the league have gross amounts of testosterone in their blood, making the defense look ludicrous at best.
That being said, I have a feeling we will see more players use variations of this defense, and it may be more effective for HGH cases. I would expect to see a lawsuit somewhere down the line, but probably by a retired player who has nothing to lose by being "blacklisted."
