I created a "survey". This will automatically tally the results. We're doing this on another forum with prizes, but I was interested in seeing what type of result mgoblog is expecting this season. I figured I'd get quite a few more responses on here. Please only fill out the form once.

Injuries to your starting quarterback, center and top two tailbacks have a funny way of blunting positive momentum.  The Michigan team that beat ND in week two would have posted a winning season had it remained intact.  Injuries are going to happen, but what we've had the past two years on offense has been absolutely brutal.  (Actually, make it three years.)

To be honest, I think everyone on this board would be happy with 8-4 regular season.  That means we win a lot, we don't lose to anyone we really shouldn't (or it's countered by an unexpected win) and we play in a respectable bowl game.

That sets us up for solid recruiting (look at our trend!) and an almost certain preseason top 25 ranking.  Sign me up.

If I had to put a thousand dollars on UM-Iowa straight up, I'd pick Michigan.  I don't think either is a safe bet, but I truly think Michigan will win that game.  The survey shows it's pretty split, and I think that's about right.  We're improved from last year, and Iowa is a team we took down to the wire a year ago, and we get them at home.  Is it really that crazy to think we'll win?

Losses to Iowa Wisco and osu.  I'd be thrilled with 9-3, but I hate the thought of losing to the vest AGAIN.

I'd rather lose to PSU and take the W in the toilet seat.  I can even see a scenario where we go 11-1 and beating osu.  I think Wisconsin is the best in the conference.  Pryor will be tthe undoing of the Bucks.

Okay. i mean, I had us 8-4, and then thought, "no, we will probably lose to tOSU. D'oh." 7-5.

However, everyone else's enthusiasm and optimism has me thinking of filling out a more optimistic response, just to...dream. To dream of an absurd, 10-win regular season. Good GOD that would be awesome.

UCONN, game is the key. Win

ND will probably struggle, They are basicaly doing what RR did back in 08. Win

UMASS,  win

Bowling Green, win  (just in case though I will try and get my cousin to fail some of their players lo, Though I doubt they would even be taking her class.l). Win

Indiana, we have better players and have no excuse. Win

MSU is a toss up. They are more experiensed and dare I say might have better talent. Having said that though, this is a must win game. Win

Iowa, they are going to be the favorit and are statisticly better. You just have to go with the numbers. Lose

Penn St, This is a tricky one. Even though they will be the favorit they have a new QB. But it is a night game in happy vally so.....the smart money is on a lose. Lose

Illinois, we have to win no excuse. Win

Purde, this has been an odd game for the past two years now. But I think Michigan has enough experiace to finally end this non sense. Win

Wisconsin, B10 dark horse. They return to many starters and are going to be a force this year. Lose

Ohio St, They have a National Championship Team. It would be one of the bigger upsets of the rivalry. Michigan owned the 90's, Ohio St has owned the 00's, Now in the 10's maybe somehow the momentum will shift back....but I doubt that will happen this year. Lose

9-3 or 8-4 depending on how some games go. We are definetly going to have to steal a few though.

We could go 7-5, 6-6, even 5-7.

If I was betting the farm on it though, I would say 7-5. Until the team proves they are better and consistant, a lot of the games are toss ups.

I think it would have been more interesting (if probably much harder to program) to ask people to put a % chance on UM winning each game. For example, I think we have maybe a 60% shot to beat UConn, 50% + epsilon to beat ND, and 55% each against MSU and Purdue, but since I can only pick "win" or "lose" I listed all four as wins. My best guess is that we go 2-2 or maybe 3-1 in those games. Likewise, I listed all four of Iowa, PSU, Wisconsin, and OSU as losses even though my best guess would be that we go 1-3 in those.

Yeah, I agree. That would likely give a more accurate picture than this survey is doing. People are just excited today, so that tipped the "study" more towards the win column. Let me see what I can dig up.

Quick Update of where this "poll" ended up. Thanks for your involvement. I'll get the results up on the other as soon as we hit 150 participants. We're around 130 right now.
