Who are We??? A Question I've Always Wondered.
Its summer, there isn't a whopping amount going on, thought it would be a good time to ask this question that I've wondered about since I joined the MGoBlog community. Very simply, I've always wondered in a more general sense (not about anyone specifically) who all of you are (categorically speaking of course). Would appreciate any of you who choose to participate in this unscientific study, feel free to answer with one of the following categories that best describes you:
1) high school student
2) University of Michigan student
3) student at another University or college
4) Michigan alum
5) Non-alum Michigan fan
I know many of you relish your anonymity but again, just trying to figure out a little more about who comprises the MGoCommunity.
And for the sake of fair play - I'm a 4, Michigan alum of over a decade.
I am a 5. Had they offered me a scholarship or I had hit the lottery I would have most certainly been a 4.

Life long Michigan fan, still have not recovered from "the time-out," could sense doom against Colorado from very early fourth quarter, that was not over the back on Jimmy against Arkansas, who was "Butterfield" that caught like five passes on the field goal drive against Notre Dame in 93-94', Western Kentucky.....seriously, somebody tackle McNabb!!!!, double screen for Dion Harris pleeeeaaase, please tell me Braylon Edwards did not drop that ball.
Go Blue.
Born and raised in the great state of PA. My family would be a 6 a non Michigan alumni who are not fans at all. I'm from a PSU family but I made the smart choice and became Maize & Blue!
I`m a 1 in my heart, a 4 in my dreams, but a 5 in the sad reality that is my life.
I attended UofM but did not graduate from there, I had a very negative experience at UofM as a student, I still love the sports. Both of my siblings graduated from UofM.
Had to turn down my Harvard acceptance to go blue, and never regretted it.
Nice, I turned down a full ride from Cornell and my mom's side of the family went NUTS.
SUCK IT IVIES!

I'm a 4, Class of '05. Can't believe I graduated 5 years ago. I think you really start to miss being a 2 when the amount of time lapsed since graduation exceeds the amount of time you spent as a 2.
For all you 2's out there (and 3's too). Enjoy it, because it will happen to you too.
LSA 4 on the five year tour with nine addresses. go figure.
Student
I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, does that help?
2 mos' def. Really absolutely no relation to the university otherwise (as in, no alumni relatives.)

Another sister-in-law (a 5) works at the UM school of Public Health and my brother, a 5, lives in Ann Arbor and works security for the football games.
Sadly, our daughter got into Michigan's Honors program 3 years ago and chose to go elsewhere. Black sheep of the family. We still are holding out hope for the 16-year-old except that he's a diehard Gopher's fan. How that happened, we just don't know.
Oh, and I grew up in East Lansing, and no one hates Sparty more than I do.

Lifetime New Englander and sports fan who never got into college football (can't stand the BCS) until I went into Prof. Thom's in NYC on Nov. 18th, 2006 and was taken aback by the passion of the UM fans. Things haven't gone so well for the program since then but I'm in it for the long haul and looking forward to 2010

Anyone else here live in Alice Lloyd, class of '89?
born to two 4's who met at UM undergrad and went to every home game while growing up and spent every away game listening on the radio while helping my Dad (not voluntarily) rake leaves.
Mother was from Columbus and her side of the family, some 40 years later, still refers to her as a traitor and every year we lose we get large 3'x3' grey sheet cake with scarlet writing on it that says, 'Eat Me'. Mighty tired of those cakes......taking suggestions on what to send them after we finally beat OSU someday.
Dad got his law and a Masters in Aero at UM
Older sister and younger brother (played soccer there) also 4's
Grew up just outside East Lansing (Okemos) and some of my closest friends growing up were made on Spirit Day in elementary school where the Friday for the UM/MSU game everyone else wore green & white, while myself and maybe 2 other kids wore the sacred Maize & Blue.
Currently the father of a 5 year old who already knows the fight song and swears he is going to play football at M. I live in San Francisco, so i have a special out-of-state tuition fund started already, fingers crossed, it would be my fondest wish should he be able to go to M for school. Will start flying him back for a few games this year.
